automatically close any thread beyond a certain period of time being inactive. lets say 60 days after the last post.
its the only way people would stop bumping old, useless threads.

I don't know. Consider the Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword topic that was made months ago. It's been inactive for a while but eventually we will need to use it again.

If it's been dead for that long, I doubt anyone'd mind someone making a new thread
or just asking a mod to get it unlocked.

change the emoticon wordfilter for to something else
then it'll stop showing up in timestamps and stuff
even putting another colon after the 3 will help
Just check the "Disable Smilies" checkbox.
That doesn't work if you want both timestamps /and/ smilies in your posts.
It's not used that often anyway, so it's not like changing the wordfilter will be a problem.

And you'll have to do that for all the other emoticons as well, if you turn smilies off.
Is it really that big of a deal to take those thirty seconds to add an extra colon to a wordfilter and hit submit?
Well Viper ;3 and :3 are two different emots.
You never use smilies that often in your posts anyway so just use the disable smilies button for now.
If you can find better replacement text then I'll change it.

I don't particularly like that there's a sub-forum in a sub-forum. Can't you take ripping projects out of sprite projects and just put it under The Spriters Resource? It kind of makes sense where it is but it's not fun for navigation and it'd still make sense being separate.

I brought that up as well.
There's no reason for ripping projects to be in sprite projects.
Ripping projects should be changed into a subforum of the tSR section, and Spriting projects should be a subforum of Spriting and Pixel Art.

In the universal rules topic I'm pretty sure the paragraph between 13 and 14 is supposed to be after 14

The Spriters Resource | System > Letter > Title Sprites
in the browser bar. The reason I'm suggesting this is because it might help TSR be better indexed by search engines. If someone searches for (name of game) sprites, the TSR page will contain the full search term and might be placed a little higher on the page.

I support these two ideas.

How about warning message telling someone not to bump a topic when a user post in a month old messige
Or like a confirmation message
