...I personally don't see the point in having individual screens on the controllers for a home console
I mean, this made sense on four swords adventures and crystal chronicles and would make sense on any local multiplayer fps, but I can't really see the point in anything else being nintendo, they'll definitely come up with some creative use for it, but to be honest it seems like nintendo's current business strategy is to put the craziest gimmick into their new technology and see what they can do with it and then claim it as innovation when it ends up selling its inevitable millions of units because it's a nintendo product not that i'm knocking nintendo for not being afraid of trying new things; of course not. What I'm saying is that I want a nintendo console that doesn't feel like it's simply riding the wave of the new thing it has that nobody's done yet Thanked by: Gwen

A system for Four Sword Adventures and Crystal Chronicles.....almost ten years later...That aside I look forward to see how Nintendo finally catches up with it's competitors and moves into this generation.

To be honest, I don't like it. It just doesn't seem like something I'd enjoy. I'd rather have my console and play on my big ass tv.

idk i like it. i can see a D&D thing where certain things are revealed to certain players only

Might as well do that with the 3ds though. I just don't like the idea that their next "main" console, is essentially another handheld.
Well nothing is "final" yet I guess, so it could be revealed later that like Sengir said, the screens on the controllers show "secret" information to each player. Or maybe they might not have the screens altogether.

Skyward Sword hasn't come out yet. Are they going to do the same GCN/Wii thing they did with Twilight Princess?

I doubt it, just because project cafe is supposed to be announced soon doesn't mean it will be released soon. I'd imagine Skyward Sword would come out sometime this year, and the new console will be next year

She might mean putting Skyward Sword on the new console when it's released and also put it on the Wii, since it's the console right before this new one. Though I don't see how that would work as this console shows no signs of having motion controls. Thanked by: Gors

Having a handheld component in a console doesn't automatically make the console a handheld. I think that this is pretty neat and has a lot of potential. Examples: Mini-maps and GUI elements that don't obscure the screen! Console TCGs! VMU-style minigames! Hell, you could even carry save data onto the controller and bring it with you anywhere, or use your controllers to deliver/retrieve data to/from other consoles. Arguably, the 3DS can do all of these with connectivity to the "new console," but I don't know very many people that are going to buy both a 3DS and the new Nintendo console for the sake of these features, since that'll probably dry out upwards of $600. I'm glad Nintendo "jumps ahead" of gaming, I'd like to see more innovations in gaming like this. Maybe we're getting one step closer to finally properly pulling off VR. Also, about this console "showing no signs of motion control"-- they said that all Wii games and Wiimotes would be backwards compatible. (This might have been a rumor, but I remember reading this somewhere.) Having no motion control but backwards compatibility with a motion control system would just be silly.
