So yeah, I'm digging this.
Tsunami Bomb - The Simple Truth
We could run away
Leave behind anything paper
Not knowing where we're going to stay
When there's no Mondays
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you

This came from NSider2, so I don't take credit for this:
Quote:donkey kong country-1994
launch of the n64-1996
Donkey kong 64-1999
gamecube-2001
donkey konga-2004
wii-2006
Donkey kong country returns-2010
wii2-2012?
Quite a pattern there, huh?
I don't get it. I noticed that you only included one DK game for each console but that's not really anything worth noting imo.

The thing is, there is usually one DK game that launches 2 years before a new Nintendo system.
Provided if there isn't another DK game in the Wii's lifetime, this basically raises the likelihood of the Wii's successor in 2012.
That could just be coincidence.

I doubt the Wii sold millions because it was a Nintendo product. If that was the case why did the Gamecube do poorly?
No the Wii sold like crazy because it introduced itself to a wider audience with its motion control.

The fact that they are DK games aren't really important. I doubt Nintendo sits down and thinks "Hmm our console only has 2 years left, let's make a DK game" but as I said earlier the first party game releases do make a similar pattern to what we saw with previous Nintendo consoles.
My main concern with this console is that the controllers are probably going to cost shit loads. I mean the damn 360 controller with the awesome D-pad (which you can't get without the charger pack...) is like £40. So a controller with a screen in it? Not looking forward to that purchase. Now if the 3DS had 2 analog sticks they could have probably used that, and that would have been a cool feature.

Yeah, I'm not dismissing that it's possibly a coincidence, but you can't just ignore history either. I guess all that can be done is just continue to wait and see what the future holds.

My theory: There will be two versions for this console, one that comes bundled with the controller and one that doesn't, maybe they'll allow you to use the 3DS as a full time controller this time around?
Edit: what was i thinking

Yeah just saw it on Joystiq. Now the problem is that the PS4 and Xbox Z are aiming for around what... 2014?
I can see most of the third party games for this being 360 and PS3 ports as people are lazy and like quick money, and then in 2014 it won't be as powerful as the new competition. Seems like a strange thing to do, but meh - I'm sure Nintendo will figure it out.

I really don't think the PS3 & XBOX need an update yet, they still have a lot of life in them. Whereas the Wii doesn't, it's stale and not as technologically advanced.
Or fun.

Of all people, how do you not find the Wii fun?
Because it isn't.
Sure there are 10ish games i love on Wii. (Mostly first party games but others too)
But i'd much rather play Mario Galaxy 2, or NMH on my PS3 if i could.

Can anyone think of any parts of Wii games that would only work on the Wii and were enjoyable?
