If I recall, you still have to pay even if you are a student unless the class you're in gives it to you themselves. I haven't ever tried claiming to be a student, but I always though you had to show some kind of proof that you were a student as well.

As for the legality of it, well technically all of the stuff on the resource sites is illegal anyway so :p But seriously, if its true that they don't try hard to verify if you're a student or not than I doubt they care too much about it.

Nope. If you're 13 and over Autodesk sees you as a student. Doesn't matter if you're in a class or not. And its all free.

I just got Maya for free as a student.
They even allow homeschoolers.
It's just that you can't do any commercial projects.
Anyway, I took some of those models I ripped (Along with this one skybox I haven't released yet that I probably should soon)
and posed 'em up. I thought it looked neat. Big Grin

So I guess it was made on MMD, huh?
The pic was taken from this scene, right?

Sephiroth from Dissidia still fits the scene pretty well.
I should really do some more research on MMD.

I'm going to try and use Spyro models (of the Sunrise Spring homeworld) to act as kind of a reference for re-making Sunrise Spring in the Source games. That is my ultimate goal.

there are several ways, people use gmod, (or thats when you already have it rigged) some people use 3dmax to rig, using bones or joints sistem.. i use milkshape 3D , it has a cool joint sistem, but you have to assign every joint by hand.. that can wear you out because it takes waaay too long

some people use a software called.. vocaloid i think.. and theres another software called Lara.... hmm.. lara something.. it acepts obj files

i never used any of these two softwares but i see a lot of animations made on youtube using this tools.. so.. you might wanna give it a try, no coding expertise needed so.. yhea..

oh, and theres a game engine called blender... and unity too, but anim on unity is reaaaly cripted
