What the fuck is this derail. I didn't want to step in because I figured it had petered out, but this is a bit much.
I'm not taking sides here - I'm personally of the opinion that the mascot platformer is pretty dead, and I relish the games that move away from the collectathon format.
If say, Infamous 2 suddenly decided to become (soley) about collecting Blast Shards and jumping around, it would mechanically be a mascot platformer, but it would also be generically bad. Also consider that budget games tend to default to Mascot Platformer (if not Kart Racer).
tl;dr: DK and Kirby are just great, but I'd like it if they did games that weren't straight up platform jumping, it's a dead horse.
Specs 'n' Headphones has been revamped! Check it, yo.

Thinking about it, why the hell isn't there a Super Monkey Ball game for PS3 or 360 yet?

Who cares, honestly. Ever since the Wii incarnation, SMB has lost its teeth entirely. Single-Player only Arcade mode, easy stages, and a handful of shitty minigames is not what we expect from you, Sega.
Then again, I don't think Amusement Vision is doing the games anymore, which explains a lot.

Another game in SMB2 style is what we need.

I guess that's fair since the last SMB game I played was SMB deluxe and that was Amusement Vision. I wasn't aware Amusement Vision stopped working on the games and that they had copied the pattern of recent Sonic titles.
Still, something that was more of a sequel to Super Monkey Ball 2 as I had envisioned and Jetters had suggested would be awesome IMO.

I was wondering if they had a hybrid fighting and RPG game. I know a couple that merge a few elements from each genre but none that really dive deep enough.
I'm sure you guys probably know something that I don't.
