Turns out the ocean created a massive underground waterfall, and there's plenty of lava to give us light and all that. It's funny to watch spiders and skeletons charge us and they end up diving in the lava~ Hell, we had a goddamn adventure in there. We ended up getting lost, heh. Is it just coincidence that I've seen millions of dogs since I created a new file or are dogs much more common now in 1.9?
