What are you playing?
X6 isn't really broken bugs-wise, but it definitely had some horrible level design choices, I won't disagree with facts. The final castles in particular... hoo boy.

Gate is without a doubt the worst boss in Mega Man X history, with High Max being amongst the most annoying, though not bad.(Hyenard is still the most annoying, with Infinity Mijinion also being high up in the annoyance factor).

I dunno why they released X6 so soon after X5. I imagine it had something to do with the PS2 being released; They probaly wanted to complete it and just move on to X7.

All in all, I still think X6's soundtrack is among the best of the series. So many memorable songs, and the best boss theme imo.

Also Metal Shark Player is one of the best mavericks, if only because of his "special ability".

X6 wasn't even supposed to exist in the first place, the series was supposed to end at X5.

and yes, X6 is very broken bugwise. there is so many exploits in the game.

Really? show me. Wouldn't mind testing them out in a future replay.

Wellll on the subject of soundtracks, X5 arguably has the best soundtrack in the entire X series (I say arguably because I can't truly decide whether it really is superior to X1's), it just blows me away and has a higher total number of songs that hit me really hard than X1, so they're just right next to eachother at the top of the list.

Other than the second one, those look like glitches that can benefit the player. Still, I don't think I've ever had that invincibility glitch happen to me in my playthroughs.

They do benefit the player. That is the problem. THe game is badly designed and has too many exploits that completely defeat the (badly-done) difficulty of the game.

It's pretty funny actually. The bad game design choices make the game artificially hard, yet these glitches can more or less eliminate said difficulty.

but that IS the problem.

A good game shouldn't have any bugs/glitches, even if they benefit the player. It is unfair as fuck, doesn't make sense, it makes the game broken. An ideal fun game should be fun NOT because it's hilariously buggy; it should be fun because it's well-coded and well-thought overall.

Well, there are some people who find a game like Sonic 06 "So bad it's almost good", and X6 isn't NEARLY as fucked up as Sonic 06.

But it is for different reasons, obviously. Both games were victims of a rushed development schedule, especially in Sonic 06's case. X6 could have been better if it was delayed until early to mid 2002, while Sonic 06 probaly should have been saved for an early 2007 release. Unfortunately, it was Sonic's 15th anniversary, and SEGA didn't think that Sonic Riders and Sonic Rivals were "good enough".

The hilarious thing is that the PS3 version was delayed til January 2007, yet it ended up being WORSE than the 360 version. SEGA's had plenty of opportunities to patch the game to at least make it "passable", but they chose not too.

Also, the X6 glitches are funny in a non-comedic fashion. They're more funny in a "Wow I can't believe that let that in" kind of way.

It's really getting old; you bring up Sonic 06 every fucking time a "glitch" is mentioned. 06 really falls under different circumstances glitch-wise than X6.

When someone thinks a game is good "because it's hilariously bad," they say that jokingly/for the sake of comedy,
unless they seriously have the brain of a small toddler who can still be entertained by "jingling keys".

Really don't even see those X6 glitches as funny.

There really isn't anything funny there.

Granted, most glitches aren't, but there's ones like Skyrim or GTA that involved gratuitous amounts of "why is the happening, oh god."

The X6 ones are just weak mistakes that should have been fixed to make the game technically better.

If you can find a good enough used copy for $10 or less, go for it. If anything, it'll be good to make your friends play it and see if they can tolerate it.(Honestly, it's not a bad price even for just a music CD)

Since beating Skyward Sword (not 100% though) and getting five sparkling stars in Super Mario 3D Land, I'm now going through OoT 3D. I'm not going for 100% there as I've already done that many times with the N64 original (and Master Quest on GCN).

I'm basically working through my 3DS games so that I can get back to Mario Kart 7 as soon as I can.

Heh, you'll have plenty of time then. The next major 3DS release will be Kid Icarus in late March, and I imagine Luigi's Mansion 2 might be an April/May release.
