Yes, it is a cartoon, and even if it was anime (it isn't) it would still be a cartoon because anime are just Japanese cartoons

Oh here's the Cartoon Thread! Let me post some stuff.

Please note this is probably the greatest Popeye cartoon. Having the best quality animation and artistry, it also features Popeye singing ALL the words to his theme song, something that rarely happens.

Also it features Popeye's signature move the "Twister Punch"

I love this one in particular because it shows off just how badass Popeye is, able to take on the impossible, even without his spinach!

Badassery include:

-Popeye roars at lions scaring them like little kittens.
-Popeye drills through solid wall with his own body.
-Popeye turns giant vulture into roast turkey in seconds.
-Popeye knocks out two-headed giant with one punch.
-And much much more!

I remember seeing that all the time. I loved the use of clay(?) backgrounds throughout almost the whole cartoon. Only thing is, almost every time it showed on TV, it was the short version. I hate it when people make short versions of cartoons.

Because of commecials. It's gotten worse over time. They've been cutting more and more time cut from the cartoons these days so they can fit in more commercials.

I kind of laughed the first time I saw Gumball and how it had no intro! I said "this is the fate of all shows"

Because commercials is the only thing that they "want" on television nowadays. It's why they've been producing mostly crap lately (and to start childhood greed early), so that way they'll make even MORE room for the infomercials.

I miss theme songs in my shows (I can understand why there was no opening to shows like Korra, but when it's somthing that wasn't meant to be serious). *sighs*

Yeah, Korra sure is a great kid's sh-
-...ow

Now we just have to wait until 2013 for the next season.

Well fuck.

A show can still be serious and have an opening intro.

Intro songs are kind of hit-or-miss for me. It feels kind of empty when a show doesn't have any sensible intro theme to it (like Gumball and Regular Show), but at the same time it gets grating if it's especially in your face about it (like anime intros in general [especially dubbed anime]).

It really just depends on the show for me to care about the intro theme or not. In terms of modern shows, Adventure Time has a pretty good intro theme to it, while Korra's themeless intro works pretty well for it (especially coming from the original Avatar series, where that didn't really set up with a catchy tune about AVATAR STYLE YIP YIP but instead put the entire show into the context of a story, which was awesome).
HAVE I BEEN MISLEAD?? [Image: TeamStory.gif] THE DREAM ISN'T DEAD???

Thanked by:
Well it's still pretty sad. Even movies these days don't have opening credits anymore. I used to love that! It really hyped you for the movie.

Thanked by:
You know, I don't mind a lack of intros/extros, if the content that takes their place is worth taking up the space. I actually feel a little cheated whenever I go to
the movies, and all I get at the end is end credits. Blooper reel, outtakes, anything, just gimme something.

HEY LOOK KORRA NEWS
ASN Wrote:A lot of information was revealed at The Legend of Korra panel at San Diego Comic Con and they are summarized in this news article.

Some highlights from the panel include:

Book 2 is titled "Spirits" and takes place 6 months after Book 1.

Korra, Mako, Bolin and Asami will be wearing new costumes.

Pro-bending will still be featured in Book 2. Mako and Korra are no longer part of the Fire Ferrets but Bolin has picked up two newbies to form a team called the Lion Elephants.

Mako is now working as a policeman in Republic City.

Asami is now the head of Future Industries.

Korra will be traveling into the Spirit World. She will be learning more about her spiritual side.

We will be seeing more of Korra's parents.

Kya and Bumi, Avatar Aang and Katara's eldest two children, will be featured more in Book 2.

Four Books? So another set? Heh.

So the first book we got was Water (considering Korra was a MAJOR waterbender), so I speculate that since the origional order of the books had Fire last and Air first, the order will get switched around.
