Well, before adding lighting..I would suggest fixing his head because right now it looks weird.
When building a character, think of it like..an action figure toy. Think of how each part of the body would function and how it is connected to the body. Right now, it's like the head is just kinda..floating?

I simply fixed this problem by emphasizing more that it is, indeed, connected to the body.

As for lighting, try to shape the character out more. Most specifically around the horns. That way it defines its characteristics more. I'm not doing the whole thing for you because, as an artist, it is best if you do it yourself.
Another thing to note is that you need to work on your color scheme. You seem to have way too much colors going on and the colors look odd when put together(I already tried it with the highlights you made). I'd suggest working on a more stable palette. It seems to change completely different hues when put together.

Minor thing you might want to fix, the highlight on the eye indicates that the light source is on the top right but the actual shading says it's on the top left. Also here's a really crude edit that might help you with your shading. It was done fast so I might have overlooked a couple of things so only pick out what may help you.

i asume he refers to a palette with less gradients and more dinamism.

half of the palette is basically blue with minor to unnoticeable differences in bright, wich utterly makes the character flat and dull. do a small research on how the color wheel works, and try to use other colors to make your shades more interesting(and real, as well). that way you can optimize your palette so you wotn need a new tone of blue for every inch of your sprite.

plus the way the character was shaded originally didn't reflect any kind of volume(in fact, it was quite hard to read the shape of his body in general). you need tod o some homework about how lightsources work and how they should be applied.

could someone show me the direction to improve more?? My change of colors is better now??
I am happy with the head, but the body and tail, i think is someway wrong...maybe because of the lineout colors? or the shading??
