The first time I played through Black, I wasted my masterball on a random pokemon accidentally, and decided to restart.

Before I knew what Shiny pokemon were, I found a shiny Sneasel and OHKOed it with a critical hit.
I then mentioned the weird pink Sneasel that I had found to Zac and he told me it was super rare and that I should have caught it.

I had a completed lvl 100 pokedex.

Then I discovered MissingNo.

As a kid I loved exploiting glitches. I'm pretty sure I broke my save on red version doing that a few times. Heh, oops.

I've had the same save file on my Pokemon Yellow version since I was about 7 (that's 12 and a half years). The battery is about to (may have already) run out, so I'll be losing my save data soon. In some ways it would be kind of nice to start again, but I put a lot of effort into that game (and it was the first save file I ever got a level 100 on).

I had my pokemon silver with like 247 entries I only lacked Marril/Azumarril Slowking and Celebi, I was out for dinner with my mom, her friend and her friend's two sons and lent the gba to the oldest one and let him start a new game and told him not to save
but he saved....
he saved it.

Pretty much for me finding Missingno in my Pokemon Blue. Nuff said.

Oh, and there was a time when my batteries died right as I was in the middle of saving the game.

My green version went poof(EG. Burnt) today and now it's broken along with my earbuds.

I finished the sucker too.

I've abused the glitches in blue tons and nothing besides superficial glitches every occurred

as far as I know missingno can't even really effect data outside of your hall of fame

I don't remember what I did, but all I know is that catching it pretty much glitches your hall of fame. Plus my game file would sometimes delete itself.

As far as I know Missingno. could very well damage more than the hall of fame. Putting it in a box was suicide. The box would get messed up, you'd lose Pokémon and such things. Happened, really (at least in my German version, might make a difference, who knows).

hm never happened to me

having missigno in the party would make my trainer card glitch up, but even that could be resolved by deleting and reloading the game
(and I assume it would of by now since I've been using glitches since I was like 7)

I don't think it can permanently damage the game, but it does fuck up the entire save if you just as much catch it.

Otherwise, it's pretty much fine just encountering it, as far as I know.

Encountering it is fine, catching it doesn't do too much, but putting it in a box... should probably be avoided, it has cost me a few monsters.

Not as many as the battery running dry, though. Lost my full 150 monster dex last year.

I'd catch the glitchmon all again just to get my flying Kangaskhan back.
