well, remember that the official sprites couldn't be totally accurate to their artwork either. readability > details.

Inafune even said that, while designing the bosses for Mega Man 6, he consciously ignored the NES's limitations. Well, is this better?

Yes, it is better. A good job I would say. I am a bit unsure about its left foot though (our left). Try to turn it two pixels to the right (our right), so that it points more to us.
Example? Look at my Ultra Master Zest on page 1. His left foot is more pointed towards us. Thanked by: DuoDynamo

most Robot Masters have their feet totally opposite sides of eachother though, or at least more or less like he has it now so I believe that part is accurate.
however something else about the feet has been bothering me since the beginning but I never bothered to check what. I now know what it is. his feet are too fat and clunky compared to every other Robot Master. basically, the point where the ankle area of the leg meets the foot should be more narrow, if that makes sense. I felt he looked kinda clunky too but couldn't put my finger on it. Gonna fix that right away. And btw, when I post my other robot masters, should I post them here or do I create new threads for them? Thanked by: Garamonde

it'd be preferred if you posted them here, especially since they're related.

The eyes might as well be the same color as his trimming too.

It's still unnoticeable. He could get rid of the annoying extra layer.
I have to agree with Thanatos. While it might seem unnoticeable, white sclerae are common to almost every Robot Master, and unless necessary, I don't think I should change such an important common factor. I could make the trimming white to match, but that would make the design look unfinished IMO, and it would detract way too much from the yellow.

yea I should have posted here earlier, all robots except Galaxy and Astro Man have white eyes, so while in normal spriting terms this would be a good idea, he needs to stay in-style.

Colourful bosses of the Rockman series use two layers. There are only three bosses from the normal stage bosses (Namely Cutman, Bubbleman and Magnetman) on the NES which use one layer. However theses bosses have all in common that they always use white for the eyes. The rest also use white on the sclerae. Fortress Stage Bosses are a exception of the white sclerae rule, like the Darkman series of Megaman 5. |
