Xbox One
They changed some of the unwanted featured, but the one thing they didn't changed is, aside from the huge price tag, is the Kinect. If it's still mandatory, then it still won't convince most Microsoft fans to get the Xbox One, even though DRM restrictions are no longer featured. My only guess is that Microsoft's still trying too hard in my opinion... Blank

If they don't keep the Kinect mandatory, how will developers ever take it seriously? Microsoft seems to think it has a lot of potential and I think it deserves the right to at least have a chance.

That's true, but note that not everyone wants Kinect to be mandatory. They felt as if it's being used as surveillance, which would invade privacy.

I owned a Kinect, and we never really use it much, since most of the real action is on the main controller-based games. Disney Interactive has currently been the only distributor of good Kinect games with titles like Kinect Disneyland Adventures and Kinect Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure. All of the other titles are a bit too mainstream, and I'm really not into dancing, so Just Dance and Dance Central are way out of my league. Fruit Ninja Kinect and The Gunstringer are two exceptions, and they are great choices to be part of the included free game for Kinect.

But I've been a little skeptical about Microsoft lately. I don't even know where to start. Internet Explorer isn't as good as browsers like Google Chrome and Firefox. They focus too much on Halo, a game with incredibly overpowered enemy AIs. They ruined Banjo-Kazooie, Conker, and Perfect Dark, and made the company behind them making silly Kinect games that don't look the least bit like they a rehash of Wii Sports. On top of that, they're already at work for a third one on Xbox One. And how is Microsoft able to make their Xbox 360 run really fast on most occasions, while their PCs can get so slow it's a wonder they were even successful in the first place?

At this rate, I think I want to boycott Microsoft and hold a funeral for Banjo, Kazooie, Conker, Joanna Dark, and all the other great characters who were left to be sitting on the streets with signs saying "Will Star in Games for Food." Not surprised why it took so long to get Konami to release Metal Gear on the Xbox now. And now that I think about, a large majority of games I ever enjoyed on the Xbox 360 were all third-party games like Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing, Sonic Unleashed, Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3, and Super Street Fighter IV. I think it's time to go back to Sony considering I still have a lot of nostalgia from the PS2 with LEGO games and Thrillville (R.I.P. LucasArts). It even amazes me that Valve was made by two former Microsoft employees after playing Team Fortress 2 and Portal.
I can't decide if I'm better off doing barrel rolls or getting arrows to the knee.

Well, I can't defend the XBox problems, but I can at least defend the PCs. I've never had any problems with a Windows PC unless it was something I did myself on my older computers when I was a kid; downloading anything and everything because I wanted something in particular, without really being aware of malware, viruses and other nasty things that either slow your computer down, or completely wreck it, such as trojans. If you get that stuff, it's your own fault, NOT the manufacturer's fault. I can testify for this to the max right now, because I totally do NOT have an anti-virus, and I've had this same laptop for 3 years now and haven't had a problem, save for my harddrive needing to be replaced last October. Microsoft didn't make the HARDWARE though, they made the SOFTWARE Windows OS. So in the end, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the OS itself. It's what you DO on your computer that causes it to get slow and viruses. If you're completely oblivious about where to download things or what not to click on the internet, or are just feeling pretty adventurous and click the wrong things, or even lack the proper extensions to protect your computer from some of the nasty things such as AdBlock to block malicious ads or NoScript to stop malicious Java Scripts from running without your permission, it's your own fault you mess up your system with malware, spyware, viruses and trojans. That's all I have to rebut~

Okay, I agree there. But it's also pretty known that Microsoft's been pretty horrible with every other release anyway. 95 sucked, 98 was great, 2000/ME was horrible, XP was amazing, Vista was crap, and 7 is awesome. 8...mixed results, but I haven't heard too much praise about it. So the next one should be fine. But disregarding that, my point still stands firm. You make your own computer slow, barring the bad releases of the OS.

I had Vista a couple years back, and it's honestly my favorite Windows version. I never had any of the issues people were complaining about, and I thought it was extremely intuitive and easy to use.

Still, barring all of that, you really can't blame Windows/Microsoft for lagging if you'er trying to play games like that on high end specs with only like, 1.5 GB and under of ram, and a mediocre processor. As well as the aforementioned getting trojans, viruses, malware and spyware. All of those relate to YOU not taking care of the computer, not the manufacturers of the OS.

It's similar to how people were saying Startropics 2's free movement system was bad because they couldn't perform certain platform jumps without dying once or more. You can't diss the movement system just because you have poor platforming skills. The game gives you plenty of leeway, allowing you to walk up against the edge of a platform before jumping anyway, so any failure is all on the player's end, not the game's. Realtime action games shouldn't be gridsnapped anyway; it always feels stiff and clunky =C.

I usually like gridsnapping because it helps me coordinate what I'm doing.

jmo, of course.

This is true, but how is Apple able to make Macs invulnerable to these?

The notion that Macs can't get viruses is completely false.

To begin with, there are most certainly viruses out there designed for Macs. Apple has done absolutely nothing to cause their rarity; it's just the fact that there aren't as many Mac PC users as Windows PC users for many personal reasons from person to person. Maybe many are like I, and despise how every Apple product can only use Apple Related software and hardware in order to function, or just how bloody expensive and weak the glass pieces of tech are compared to a Windows PC for the same price. Whatever the reason maybe, the number of Windows PC users far outclasses that of the number of Mac PC users. Therefore, there are far more people getting bored with life, resorting to creating these ridiculous viruses and spreading them all over the internet through the use of a Windows PC compared to the same using a Mac PC.

Following up, there are viruses that can affect both operating systems (and others, such as Linux/Unix), but those are pretty deep within the confines of the internet. Again, as I've stated before, unless you just don't know what you're doing or where to go on the internet when you click on things and download things, you'd never get a virus, malware or the like if you have the proper browser tools and/or protection.

I agree, heck, you can do most things, even download torrents, music, and even porn without getting viruses if you know what you are doing, and prepare your computer properly. I have several anti-malware programs installed, I regularly defrag my harddrive, and I regularly clean my registry, shortcuts, delete old files, etc etc. One of my computers is 6 years old, and it runs almost like new.

So it seems they're likely to implement a reputation system for players, as a sort of filter between the trolls/griefers/etc. to the more mature players. IF this is done correctly, it could actually be a step in the right direction, but if it's left in the hands of users in a manner such as a Like/Dislike system, it will have many problems. The first people people downvoting others just for the hell of it, or because they retorted to trolls, or anything else.
