Probably not, as Black Tower names are kinda randomish (they also go by alphabetical order for floor masters) and I'm 99% sure it doesn't relate to the japanese name.

So from where I am and when my game store opens, in just a little over 300 hours I will have Pokemon Y version in my hand.

Eh, I don't consider seeing the Pokémon list a spoiler, since you also have to know exclusives to really nail down the version you want!

You know what I hope they fix this time around? GTS. It was a total bomb before, because of their negligence to check for impossible trades, which ended up flooding most of the system. Under Level 9 Mewtwo for a Darkrai, Under Level 9 Palkia for a Dratini, etc.

I hope you can catch a Swinub early. I've been wanting to play through with a Mamoswine.

Now there's a Mega Charizard X, while the old one is now Y. Like Mewtwo, X is exclusive to X, Y to Y.
I must say, the novelty is starting to saturate fast. I accepted this as a gimmick for Mewtwo, but now Charizard has one, which means Blastoise needs one and Venusaur needs one.
I was excited about the Mega Evolutions, but now I'm getting a little nervous.

I'm glad I'm getting X, because the X-exclusive Mega Evolutions so far have been more appealing to me than the Y ones. That being said, I wonder whether or not it is even possible to GET the alternate versions in your version, or whether they are impossible to get. It would really make a gap between the two games, so I'd ASSUME there must be something more to it...

See, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Would it be plausible to have, say, Mewtwo Y in the same game as Charizard X? I'm curious to see what they have planned, if anything.

Uhm, given that websites are reporting "oh, you need Charizardite X" or "Mewtwonite Y"...couldn't you just obtain the stone from someone with the opposing version of the game...?

I'm pretty sure this game series caters to perfectionists; there's no way they'd only allow one Mega Evolution per game

Now see, I kind of wish that they'd confirm more things at least several months before the game comes out rather than waiting two weeks before it comes out.
They better make the two mega stones trade-able between games. I really hope that's the case.

I think they waited two weeks before the game comes out because there's no one to actually leak the game info. Back in gen 4 and 5, users on Serebii and other fansites would just play through the Japanese game and share their findings, only to receive a C&D from TPC.


So...it's a smart PR move on their part, but kinda sucks as a fan, lol. To be fair, maybe they're shooting for that amazing Magic Feeling most of us got when we played through B&W for the first time (basically like playing your first Pokémon game all over again because you had no freaking idea what these monsters were)

They have to.

I kinda just realized that Mega Stones have to be held by a Pokémon, thus taking out any competitive edge to them whatsoever (no more Choice Bands or Life Orbs or Focus Sashes or Leftovers, just an uber-centric metagame like when you were 7 years old hooray)
