How would you suggest transitioning the Dark green to Kiwi color?
I think the bush on top works better colorwise.
Thanks everyone. I do want to change 2nd's eyes, because they seem kind of lifeless. I can make the neck a little longer, but I think the legs are okay.
Awesome! I'll work on it at some point in the future.

Baegal I think your designs are absolutely perfect for a two-stage evolving pokemon
but since it's a starter and needs a third form, I think the second form might require some simplification so that the third form can still grow from it. Right now it looks like the grand finale, and seems like it would be hard to make an evolution for.

That could be a third evolution. I suggested for the second to be based on the emu, since it is taller than the kiwi, but smaller than the cassowary, also a flightless bird, and all three are from Oceana.
I believe in Jesus Christ, if you do also, post this as your sig.
Matthew 10: 32-33
"32 Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. 33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven."

Theee's something that's been bugging me. For Grass starters (the first form at least) they aren't very planty. I mean they aren't covered with leaves or flowers yet.
Bulbasaur just has one bulb on its back.
Chikorita just has one big leaf on its head.
Treecko just has a tail that sort of looks like a leaf.
Do you think our Kiwi has too much foliage?

Do you think our Kiwi has too much foliage? Nah, I think it's fine as it is. They look more like fluffy green feathers than leaves, really.

The starters have also all been reptilian/amphibian. I don't think it's too much of a leap. Even if chespin's green parts aren't explicitly green, it's a considerable amount. I think it can be more simplified, but honestly to me it seems alright.
As for the second evolution, I think there's much more that can be done for the third. I can simplify it a little bit, but I don't see it as a third (especially because I don't think it's very tall at all).
I'll WIP (see what I did there) something up later this week.

Maybe it could become really decorative, base it off of some celebration, maybe.

I have a sketch of what I think the final form should more or less look like, but I'll post that quite later.

Aha I got it! Get rid of the leaf thing on it's forehead. Move the white flower bud from behind it's neck to on it's forehead. I think that would work out better.
Oh and those feet are too tiny. Apply Torchic or Pidgey like feet.

I agree with the feet thing, but I think the forehead leaf looks good. They kinda meld with the design where as a big white forehead flower seems like it'd be far too blatant.

Ah i was just trying to simplify it a bit. Perhaps the green bush, instead of being a different color and separate from the neck, should be the same color as the head and neck and fused together similar to SchAlternate's Kiwi design.

I agree with this idea.

I was just messing around with some of my ideas.
I decided to get rid of the red, because it started looking Christmasy. I want to go for a more tropical look.

I like it! The colors remind me very much of RSE colors.
I don't think it'd hurt to give the eyes a different colo, though. It'd add a little more life to it.
((also just a random thought: what if each starter had a hint of the other starter's color in it?
For example grass starter having a hint of red, fire a tiny bit of blue, and water with green (or other combination)))
