Am I the only one who doesn't care about America Mario?
I fucking hate costumes that have the American flag pattern on them.

America Mario is sort of like ultra-patriotic 4Kids dubbing.
Except America Mario is fucking badass Thanked by: SchAlternate, BullockDS, psychospacecow, recme
Sportoise's reply makes me laugh out loud.
(and BTW, in case anyone is wondering, I actually am American myself)

There are people in Smashboards that thinks Sakurai is doing a worse job at the game than the Project M staff because they used the actual Light Suit as an alt rather than just a recolor.
Yup.
But they didn't use the actual Light Suit... the Project M team even went into detail about the compromises they had to make to get the design to be compatible with the game...
Off-topic Edit: How long have we had adorable starmen counting under our titles?

I know, but it's still the Light Suit overall. The SSB4 swap is merely a recolor. They're berating Sakurai for not taking his time to use the actual suit and adapt it to the game like the Project M staff did.
Which, as you can imagine, is kinda silly.

I do admit I would have preferred to se real costumes rather than clever texture overlays. Like Wario. Project M goes so far as to do this for every single character, with extra. Though, every group of people has its more vocal set of idiots, and Project M's fanbase is no exception. I'd like it if we could just ignore the opinion of some people who aren't even posting on this forum and not lead this conversation into trashing P:M because of what some people think.
At least that's where I see this heading.

I just think it's nice Nintendo seems to not be trying to forget the Prime games happened anymore
(Project: M is still pretty cool for adding the Light Suit model [yes I know it's not exactly the same I'm a Metroid fanatic and even I don't care] though) It is nice to see more creative recolours though yeah. The whole "but Wario" argument's pretty hard to ignore considering it's expanded to Wii Fit Trainer, Mii Fighter, and Villager. I would like to see extra models (f'rinstance how insanely weird and also cool would it be to have N64 models for all the Original 12, or heck, even Modern Pac-Man or Metal Sonic) Apollo Creed Mario's pretty cool though Please include Blond Little-Mac so I can have Itallion Stallion versus Ivan Drago Nintendo Thanked by: SchAlternate

Apparently this is the "Osaka Drum Player" that was mentioned in the commentary:
He looks kinda sad ... [EDIT]: Thanked by: Tellis, TomGuycott, Mystie, SchAlternate, Crappy Blue Luigi, Iceman404, psychospacecow, Rosencrantz, Baegal, Gwen, recme

Given the available resources, I don't think it would be unfair to expect a genuine alternate costume for Samus in Smash 4. At the very least, the classic/Super Metroid variant should be included. After all, it is what the majority of Metroid fans would want to see. Thanked by: Kriven, SchAlternate

General fans online suffer from the mindset that if it hasn't been shown online yet, it isn't in the game.
Be patient. Your character/costume/assist trophy/whatever is still possible. So until we get the game, shut up and enjoy the snipits we are getting. Thanked by: MrYoshbert, Mystie, Iocus, recme, alexmach1, Bigfoot, Crappy Blue Luigi, Kriven, Iceman404, psychospacecow

I love the Mario costume, not for being 'Murica, but for being based on a costume Mario wore before that isn't a power-up or simple recolor. It also represents Mario Golf in a way, so that's kewl too.
I think a Metal Sonic costume for Sonic is stretching it a bit, but I'd die from nerdgasm if that happens. I'm curious who'll be revealed on Monday. I'm not sure if Mewtwo counts as a "newcomer", but aside from that, I have no clue who it could be. Ridley? I'd be surprised if that's true (though ironically, it would have been the only one I could think of). Thanked by: Kriven
