I'd actually be all for a Raichu alt for Pikachu, but I get worried that their body shapes might be too different. The main issue I see is the tail, which is significantly different between the two of them. Though I suppose as long as the hitbox remains the same somehow there's no harm in it.

I suppose you are right; Pikachu uses his tail for at least one of his basic attacks, so that might make things tricky.

Then again, Pichu has a similar problem since his tail is less than half the size of Pikachu's. His body isn't nearly the right shape either.

They should totally use the ORAS contest pikachu costumes as alts instead.

I actually brought up the idea of Dark Pit having different voice clips from the rest of the Pit costumes the other day with somebody IRL. I doubt it'd happen, but it'd be interesting, seeing as how Dark Pit's voice is a little different from regular Pit's.

Actually, since the revelation of how Lucina came to be in that interview with Sakurai, I think Dark Pit is the MOST likely candidate for an alternate color getting alternate voice-over treatment.

I think costume-characters will be treated similarly to the Robin incarnations. Each "costume" has a set of palettes and unique voicework, announcer bits, and probably Classic Mode trophies. Possibly unique taunts (though it doesn't seem like it). Example: Daisy would sound like herself, but move like Peach, and have her own set of five or six outfits.

That's how I imagine it working out, anyway.

Before anyone questions why this may be a thing; I'm pretty sure it's for score tallying's sake. Ever have those times when it's getting down to the end of a timed match and you launch someone into a star K.O., only to have them not disappear in time for you to get credit for it? Pretty sure it's to stem off that problem.
