Here's an update to the animated gif. I don't know, but I feel as though his air attack is a bit slow.

the air attack, I feel that it's lacking reach more-so, that may be the "too slow issue". if it extended a farther distance within the same frames, I think it would fix the speed issue and obviously the reach issue.

Well, the character gets equippable weapons to increase his range, so range really isn't the problem since he's never really expected to fight bare-handed. However, I do think I have too many frames. Thanks for the input, though.
Okay, here's another update:
I added a forward dash animation. Additionally, some crouching animations.

Something different to break up the monotony. I'm thinking allowing the heads to move about on long stems like the Man-Eater boss from Castlevania Order of Ecclesia. Thanked by: TomGuycott

Manhandla? It looks like it'd fit in perfectly with the game boy Zeldas.

That is the Gameboy one.

After a while of no updates, here're two animations of the redesigned Carock from Zelda II as a boss.
Also, I had this one on the back burner. As always, criticism is welcomed. Thanked by: TomGuycott, E-Man, TheShyGuy, Koh, Gwen, Lexou Duck, Rosencrantz
Is the last one a Behemoth from Final Fantasy 6? I think it looks nice, but the red parts look like they need some shading. Perhaps use of the purple of the main body could help with that? It kinda looks like it's motioning someone to shoo away, though, ha ha.

I don't remember if you ever clarified, but do these sprites actually follow NES restrictions? Or do they just use the palette and a very low color count?

The latter actually. I use up to five colors at most (I believe I've kept that restriction to the best of my knowledge). I'm pretty sure most of my work wouldn't be compatible with an nes. Also, yeah, I won't take you too seriously Lexou, but it's nice that you're interested. And, Koh, I'll see what I can do about the red bits. Thanked by: Vipershark

Ferryman & Priest
Just letting you know, I'm working on this one (due to feeling bad about putting up a sheet that isn't complete on tsr) and because this thread hasn't been updated in forever.
