TECMO KOEI PLEASE
I must have Tingle smush his cheeks (on his face u perv UGH), kick his leg back, spin around and utter a strange noise with a flamboyant victory pose before 50 goblins fly into the air and die instantly.

That includes the Hilda recolor for Zelda and the Majora's Mask costumes for Ruto and Darunia. Some recolors are more spectacular than the other though. You can also unlock more 8-bit weapons, though I haven't got one myself. I assume those labeled as Lv.* are the ones.
Oh. Okay. I guess I'll hold out another week for this.
I mean, alternate costumes didn't make it OMG MUST BUY but like, the 8-bit weapons don't seem super-essential, so I should be alright for a little I guess.
Also, is it totally normal to bounce back and forth between Adventure Mode and Legend Mode? I actually find Legend Mode to be kinda tedious in comparison to the immediate rewards you get for each Adventure Mode challenge.

There are some quirky 8-bit weapons among them. Ghirahim uses an arrow as a sword, Impa the boomerang as a great sword and Sheik uses a ladder as a harp. First a bridge, now a harp. Does anyone even know how to use a ladder in Hyrule?

So the dlc drops in Japan and I think Europe later this month, and I cannooot wait to see what the new character and new weapon are.
I have to say that I'm not getting my hopes up about the new adventure map, but if they go out of their way to build a NEW 8-bit map, I'll be pleasantly surprised. I do know that the presence of alternate colors for ALL characters in the last DLC was surprising and not even mentioned in that pack's original announcement, so I am wondering what's in store.

This is the Twilight Princess DLC, right?

Indeed, the Twilight Princess dlc.
I'm thinking it is a high possibility that Midna is getting the new Weapon. I'm under the impression that Midna in her true form would be a fun choice. What she'd USE as a weapon is unclear, but her true form would be cool to use.
One thread on GameFaqs suggested the spinner from TP as a weapon for Midna or Zant, which is actually a pretty hilarious visual. I'd be all for that, but I doubt that would happen.
As for the character, the most important players from TP are already in the game, and even one minor character. There's a lot of battle-appropriate and also out-there choices from TP, so I really am curious to see who we get.

What if, just hypothetically, it wasn't a completely new map but something taken from another 8-bit Zelda game like Link's Awakening or something. Would you be behind that. Because I'd be pretty stoked personally.

If they are doing to do that, I hope they make sprites for the characters based on that. You see, I always had a soft spot for the sprite style in Link's Awakening and the Oracle games.

I'd be all for that, though I won't hold my breath. Only a matter of time before they start teasing it anyway.
I'm thinking that alternate costumes that might pop up in the TP pack is Dark costumes, as it seems all the main characters seem to have them as CPUs already.
What I REALLY really want is a legit way for characters to use other character weapons. They tease it in Master Quest with Zelda, Impa, Lana and Sheik using the 8-bit wood sword moveset.

Sorry for the double post, but I'm just a really big fan of this game.
For those unaware, the latest direct confirmed Hyrule Warriors' Amiibo compatibility. In addition to being able to scan Amiibos daily for a random reward of rupees, weapons or materials, Link's Amiibo was shown to give the Spinner as a weapon.
It appears to be very technical, with the ability to lay down multiple spinners with different attacks that you can then later chain into your new attacks, kind of like Lana's walls with her book. His specials make various Spinner ramps pop up, and the weapon seems to be Lightning element.
That's not all though: Koei Tecmo confirmed that Zelda's Amiibo will be compatible for a similar process to give Zelda a brand new, yet unseen weapon. On top of all that, none of the Amiibo weapons are part of the teased number of new weapons in the dlc packs, so there's even more than originally listed with Amiibos included.

I was already going to pick up a Zelda Amiibo since she's my main in Smash, but I think I'll grab a Link too.

I really would like the Spinner, but $12 weapon DLC isn't something I can justify purchasing. The Amiibos will need more uses than this to make them worth the cost.

A lot of people say that, but what people aren't visualizing is how an Amiibo can serve many functions. Sure, the effects so far are relatively small, but they are already spanning three games and going further. It's like they want them to have longevity, kind of like (though not to the SAME span I suppose) how Nintendo wants Pokemon Bank to still be utilizable 10 years from now.
Another thing worth mentioning is I read from an interview with Iwata that cheaper amiibo figures and even cards are probably down the pipeline:
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-1...-nfc-cards
Granted, these are probably not going to serve the same functions that, say, the Smash amiibos serve, but they aren't going to all be prohibitively expensive.
All in all though it depends on whether the benefits appeal to you or not. If you don't own any of the three games they currently work for, for example, you have no reason to buy them. If you DO want the benefits and don't want a figure, well... that's the tie up.

It all depends on what they do with them, like you said... but there doesn't seem to be any guarantee that the Amiibo will have much use at all with some titles. I mean, Pikachu doesn't seem to do anything yet, does it? I think Nintendo have bit off a little more than they can chew by making so many of these things at one time.

16 euros in the Netherlands. Yay!
I got the money and am still going to buy them (Link, Fox, Samus and Captain Falcon), but bullshit is bullshit.

Well the Amiibos seem to do many things for multiple games. That 12 dollar figure will be used many times for a number of games. Right now that Link figure can get you the Spinner in Hyrule Warriors, a costume for Mario Kart 8 and a trainable fighter for Smash... I must admit none of those are too exciting.
