Oh they're great things. But again, I've suffered from wireless interference, even when relatively close to the console (granted, in a wireless device saturated environment, which aren't that rare anymore), so in a tourney situation with multiple consoles (which I'm going to be in on Sunday) I'd rather not lose because the game didn't get the message.
Anyone else think Yoshi should be balanced a bit more? I mean, it's like he doesn't have any hit lag, whatsoever. He is currently one of the main flaws I see in this game, character wise.
Haven't really noticed, although nobody I play with plays as him. What I really dislike is that whenever I'm playing against link, it takes like getting him above 200% to knock him out, it's ridiculous.

I'm really digging the Mii Gunner, and he's pretty much been my main whenever I find tournies that allow Miis. (Don't get me started on that bullshit.) His zoning ability is ridiculous, and for some reason people have some preconceived notion that Miis are laughably bad. Plus, I can say I'm technically a Ness main because of the Mii I use. I may even make a Lucas Mii just to fuck with people when they ask about my main

I think they know exactly what they were doing, and I approve.
Hi, Iceman here.
Just thought I'd note that you do not need to constantly shit on what some people find most comfortable to use. I've been using the Pro Controller since day 1 and would still like a GameCube Adapter instead because I find it the most convenient to use.
Love, Iceman.

Dear Iceman,
I just think it's silly that people literally held out on buying an amazing console because they don't want to give any other controller Nintendo comes up with a chance, even though they're all great (Gamepad, pro controller, classic, heck even the wii mote's a nice controller). Lighten up, there's always the option of using the wii mote attachment one ya know, I plan on getting one because I do like the look of the Peach one! Anywho, if you really do want the adapter, I hope you find one! No need to be a butt!
Sincerely,
Gwen

It wouldn't be that big of a deal for me if it wasn't for the fact the Pro controllers are pretty expensive. I'd rather pay $30 for an adapter and use my old controllers than $200 for a set of Pro controllers. Plus I play halfway competively, and I'd rather use a controller that I'm already comfortable with rather than spend extra hours getting used to a new layout.
Also GC > Pro (by a lot) imo, but that's just me.

The game arrived in the post this morning. I'm too tired to really play anything but I think I'll mess around with SSB4 for a short while anyway.
Impressions later.
I have a copy now! Yay!
It's really fun.
I'm away for the weekend though, so won't get to play much
Tsunami Bomb - The Simple Truth
We could run away
Leave behind anything paper
Not knowing where we're going to stay
When there's no Mondays
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
When I'm in your arms, I feel safe from harm and sorrow too
You're part of me, it's so easy to see the simple truth
But most of all, nothing couldn't be solved when I'm with you

Seeing "I'm gonna get the Peach one", I just realized you're talking about the PDP Fight Pads. There's just one issue with them.
They're a rehashed version of the rebranded Pelican controllers you can find at Gamestop. Literally their only saving grace is that they're now Nintendo-licensed, so they're able to borrow a few more liberties from the GCN controllers, but not by much - such as the 2 analog sticks instead of an actual C-stick.
The good thing is that they probably feel a little more legit - if anyone owns one, let me know how they feel in comparison to a GCN controller. The one thing that's offputting about them is that the ZL/ZR and L/R button placement are reversed, so if you use the L/R buttons to shield, you'll have to hit the front row of buttons (assuming you just take the controller out of the box and just use it).
I purchased one of the Hori Battle Pads recently, and honestly I love the hell out of them, especially in games that aren't Smash - they're almost spitting images of the original Gamecube controller. I'd love to use them in Mario 3D World, but haven't tried them out yet since I've been playing Smash.
They're only available in Mario and Luigi styles, but in Japan they're putting out a Pikachu one too, which might be worth picking up.
It seriously feels legit as hell.
The thing is, all the buttons on it are digital, so you don't have the analog shoulder buttons from the Gamecube controller. But really, did you need them? :/
The D-pad is also bigger =:0
To follow up with the real tourneytards here, there's zero latency (with both the PDP and Hori ones). However, I've noticed when playing online with the Hori pad, that my character's commands will sometimes come out a second later (although this is extremely rare). I never had the issue when playing offline except for playing Greninja once [which I have no idea how to use and his side-B is hard, even for me using it, to read] It might just be an issue of online latency since my internet sucks, so idk.
The only thing that's really gonna bother purists is that there's no rumble feature in the PDP or Hori one, so both will feel incredibly lightweight in comparison. I've been contemplating putting weights in the controller to replicate the feeling, but idk lol
Also I don't know why but after a straight weekend of playing Smash, the game feels like I've played the hell out of it. Sure there's challenges and stuff to do still, but aside from Master/Crazy Orders, it doesn't...feel as fun and like it's really gonna hold my attention for long.
idk

That Luigi pad... Hnnnnnnnnngh
I got one of the PDP pads out of curiosity, mostly. They're much more solid feeling than the ol' Game Stop branded controllers. Still prefer the original Nintendo ones, but now I want to try one of the Hori ones. Where can I get one of those?

...I just found out you can get it at Walmart at all places. c I think you can arrange for site-to-store pickup, though.
I purchased mine off of Amazon, but I've heard lately that's not an option for most people, lol.

Are there really tourneys that allow this? I'd imagine you'd have a bit of an issue because of custom items and items - and you usually don't know what the Mii is capable of until the match starts (which...thereinlies the problem)
I usually use my Mii when I'm playing solo, and he's awesome. The Mii Brawler is insane - he's like, a perfect rushdown character IMO.

The tourneys I've been at allow custom move sets, but ban equipment. I've yet to see a decent tourney around that banned it. It doesn't take much to remember what move does what, and you should be able to adapt to a move that's usually just a variation of the default. THe only problem with Mii's is the fact that there's a slight variation between the height and weight, but it's pretty negligible. There's only a 1% difference between killing and being killed from the smallest weight to the largest. Usually they're okayed if you call a TO on their bullshit. If not, I just kind of leave.
I will say there has been some tournies near me banning the Brawler though. The Piston Punch UpB is glitches to where it can KO at VERY early percentages, like 20% at most characters and its not that difficult to pull off. But usually they'd be okay if you just don't use that Up B
