Also, I'll be playing as Dry Bowser instead of the Mii in said Sonic Racesuit.
Love the Mega Man suit and how it is nearly identical to the original, like Captain Falcon's suit.

I was actually planning to SELL my MK8 now since I only ever touched it twice since spending $60 on it, quite literally in every sense of the sentence there. But now... I'm not so sure I wanna give up the CD...

The only course I actually like being a battle course is N64 Yoshi Valley, and that's because it's already labyrinthine enough.
You mean elimination-style battles? All of my yes. Maybe make Mario Kart battle tournaments to go with it.
If by "rudimentary" you mean "along the lines of ssb4's level designer" I could go for that.

I've heard soooo many rumors about a Metroid DLC pack being set 3 or 4, and I wouldn't complain at all. Pokemon would be even better - imagine trying not to run over wild Squirtle or something!

Literally every comment you responded to regarding features in the newest dlc pack were made BEFORE the DLC pack contents were announced.

Also, this thread is dumb. MK8 is going pretty strong right now, so I doubt we'd see a Mk9 on wii u any time soon.

You think I don't know that? I was just stating that it happened with the DLC, so I doubt that when/if a new Mario Kart comes out it'd reappear.

I think we have to know more about NX before we can really speculate on MK9 right now. Anything else might as well be speculation about MK8 DLC. (Nabbit DLC plz)

I wouldn't want to overdo the whole "third party characters in Mario kart" thing. I was hyped to see Link, Villager, and Isabelle, but at the same time I think Mario characters should have precedent. (I know I'm pullin a Koopaul, but that's how I feel)

As for MK9, that shit is far away. Maybe it'll be 5 years from now, unless they release a new handheld or something.

If they were to have Samus in it, I bet she'd only have the Zero Suit as her biking outfit. Also Animal Crossing is huge now, I'd say it's moved up as an "iconic" series. Especially in Japan

Speaking of which, I think alternate skins for characters should be a definite thing in Mario Kart. We're already getting there with the Mii x amiibo outfits and the extra Yoshi and Shy Guy colors, and I'd love to see them take it further.

Think about it. Being able to play as Wario in his biker duds, DK in his Super Kong attire, Peach and Daisy in their sports outfits, Toad and Toadette in their treasure-tracking gear (headlamp and backpack included), the multi-colored Koopas from SMW, Superstar Baby Mario, the blue and yellow Toads from New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Mario and Luigi in their 3D Hot Rally racing suits... there's a lot of awesome possibilities to be accomplished with this.

As a bonus, nobody will have to gripe about "clone" characters like Tanooki Mario and Cat Peach; they'd be demoted to a mere sub-menu and wouldn't need to take up character slots on the main roster (though alternate skins could still provide some varying stats, like Miis). I'm not counting Metal Mario as a clone here because he was inherently meant to be a separate entity from Mario in the spin-offs (and I assume that's also the case for Pink Gold Peach).

Should the Babies be considered costumes? I've been going back and forth with that one and haven't reached a decision to fantasize about.

Cat Peach and Tanooki Mario actually do have varying stats, though :V Both are ever-so-slightly lighter than their default counterparts, so they accelerate just a weeeee bit faster than their regular counterparts. As a tradeoff, their a weeeee bit slower but handle better in midair.
Pink Gold Peach and Metal Mario are heavy variants of the defaults.

Fun fact: The AC Villagers have the same stats: the female and male villagers, respectively. Very, very slightly lighter than Mario and Peach...so yeah, what you just mentioned is actually already feasible within the game...


tl;dr:
Tanooki Mario - light mario
Mario - boring mario
Metal Mario - heavy mario

Also, if you guys care:

- Dry Bowser is the same weight as actual Bowser (Heaviest)
- Link is the same weight as Rosalina and DK (most people call them "Cruiser" class)
- Isabelle is the same weight as Toad, or Shyguy (Lightweight - NOT Featherweight)

The concept behind the different Marios having different weights almost makes me picture a future Mario Kart where there are a lot of characters with different weight variations. Picture sets in order of least to most:

Baby Mario, Tanooki, Mario, Metal
Paratroopa, Koopa Troopa, Hammer Bro
Toad, Toadette (Shes got... Braids? Marginally heavier), Captain Toad

And so on.

Of course it would garner a lot of hate if such models took up slots. I mean, its the only way to differentiate characters properlt in in-game records.
