I thought it might be. One of the developers said in an interview that Mario Maker's physics was based on the NSMB series', so I guess they would base it on NSMBU (or something like it).
BTW, could you explain how you can apply normal maps to images? I can't find anything on Google.

Rayman Legends (PlayStation 3):
Rayman Legends (Wii U):
Rayman Legends (Xbox 360):
Don't you just love console exclusives? Now The Spriters Resource has got four sections for Rayman Legends because of this. Five, if it were possible to rip Vita games...

It's a 3D thing, so you'd need to do renders using a program like 3DS Max or Blender, and then set up a light and render it to the texture directly. It's actually a lot of work, all the renders I'd need to do is basically what's holding me back from just batch-uploading the rest of the NSMBU-style sprites.

Okay. And I guess you would have to find out what lighting the game uses? Which would be difficult.

Super Mario Maker:
The tilesets and objects from the NSMBU portion of Super Mario Maker will be uploaded next time, I'm really lazy/tired.

Nice!
I guess for the previews you just used something that looked good, rather than was accurate to the game?
Very cool!

Robotnik sure knows how to prance.
What ARE these? They're pretty neat.

What ARE these? They're pretty neat. It's from a popcorn vending machine that had a Sonic-related minigame to go with it. It's been around since 1993, but only in Japan, and was recently dumped in a ROM and emulated.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 3: V Generation:
Super Mario Maker:
And some more things that I happened to get uploaded before the massive site update today.
Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land:
Kirby and the Amazing Mirror:
Had to re-rip both of those as Bacon's old rips were both missing abilities somehow, and had pixels missing from the edges. So I also threw in the alternate translations too for the sake of completeness.
So now that PM has been canceled we'll probably never see the rest of their models, right?

Regardless, it's not my business to submit custom-made models to the site, but they're definitely floating around now since both dev builds were leaked not too long afterwards.
Anyway, more updates from me that I forgot to post here, plus some new things.
Awesomenauts:
Ayla's and Ted McPain's sprite sheets were updated to the newest versions (some details were changed), and the Skill Icons (Common) sheet was updated with the Eye of Aiguillon icon. Everything else is new.
I'm not looking forward to updating Clunk, Coco, Derpl, Froggy G, Genji, Gnaw, Leon, Lonestar, Raelynn, Voltar, Yuri and all of their alternate skins with all of their new higher-resolution sprites... That's gonna take me a while.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze:
Super Mario Maker:
All up-to-date with the new Fire Koopa/Junior Clown Car, Bumper and P-Switch/Door stuff.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U:
All up-to-date with the new Cloud stuff.

I really should get around to ripping the rest of the sprites from this game sometime.
Freedom Planet:
All five characters there were updated with some unused portraits (all), unused palettes (first three) and some new sprites (middle three).
(EDIT: Updated Torque's sheet again with some new additions in the latest patch, as well as his weaponry.)
