RE: A little help here? - Wes - 02-09-2010 That looks good with the legs. I look at that character design and it seems very childlike. Have the arms swing when he walks, but make its a large swing, sort of exaggerated due to the long sleeves. That seems like it would fit the character. But I dunno, it might not looks good since it's a slow walk and not like a sprint. RE: A little help here? - Ninspriterx - 02-09-2010 Oh, I understand what you're trying to get at! Will do :] btw here's that old sprinting animation: RE: A little help here? - Wes - 02-09-2010 Yeah that looks good for a run, but he just seems like he'd be swinging his arms a lot. As if he was skipping. RE: A little help here? - Ninspriterx - 02-09-2010 I'll try and make the sleeves look more like a flag's movement. anywho: RE: A little help here? - Adam - 02-09-2010 Looks lovely, Andrew!~ RE: A little help here? - Ninspriterx - 02-09-2010 Aww, why thanks, Adam So here's a more updated walk: yeah? yeah? RE: A little help here? - Wes - 02-09-2010 I think it looks really awesome. RE: A little help here? - Gors - 02-09-2010 I just don't like that 90-degree corner on his sleeve, but it looks good overall! RE: A little help here? - Ninspriterx - 02-09-2010 Thanks guys! I'll see what I can do about the sleeve. Next: Can someone show me animate the sheet like it's flying. RE: A little help here? - Cshad - 02-09-2010 The best advice I can give is to look at a flag and do your best from there RE: A little help here? - Gors - 02-10-2010 I suggest seeing Kirby: Squeak Squad for this. this might help you. But looking at a flag will help, too. RE: A little help here? - Codestar - 02-10-2010 (02-09-2010, 05:52 PM)ninspriterx Wrote: Aww, why thanks, Adam The hair needs to move a little while walking. There should also be a little bit of body/ head rotation. Other than that looks great RE: A little help here? - Wes - 02-10-2010 Like what the others said, looking at a flag will held. But what that entails is pretty much this. You want to make a ripple effect. Like a wave. With high points (crests) and low points (troughs). Since this is sort of like a fabric material, like a blanket, each crest is a fold. That's where you will want to shade in. Like the example I made (its a quick sketch, but it gives the right idea). The first frame is roughly the same shape as the bottom of your guy's sprite (but stretched out and flat). You kind of want it to ripple, which can be achieved by moving the whole thing to the side, to make it look as though the waves are moving. Of course, you'll want to change it up a bit. Make some parts larger or smaller, maybe have the edges grow and and shrink to make it look like it's flapping. But this is an example of the movement you're going for. |
