RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - recme - 08-26-2015 quote should be in smash imo. smash should have more projectile based characters, like mega man and link. actually, id be fine with a mii costume. or a trophy. a mention of cave story would be enough to satisfy me, really. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Kriven - 08-26-2015 I wouldn't mind if multiple Indie characters were to make it into Smash, to be honest. We haven't had a group of characters as diverse as Nintendo's in the gaming scene until the recent debut of the multiple Indie Darlings (I'm looking at Shantae as kind of being the first, and Shovel Knight, Yooka-Lele, Juan from Guacamelee, Quote, Commander Video, Miriam, Lilac etc.). It's these characters that are carrying on the forgotten tradition of the mascot video game, and it's these characters that are breathing a whole lot of life into the current gaming marketplace. They fit pretty snug in with Nintendo's own properties, so as far as I'm concerned, the more of them the better. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Jermungandr - 08-27-2015 Apparently this is the actual big surprise Yacht Club was referring to: http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/08/game_confirms_shovel_knight_amiibo Which is pretty neat but it doesn't appear to be Smash Bros. related. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - TomGuycott - 08-27-2015 As soon as I find out where I can , I want to preorder the shit out of that. I love Shovel Knight. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Kriven - 08-27-2015 Okay Amiibo Friends, this is the first figure I actually seriously want so... any info on how to preorder this please. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Kosheh - 08-27-2015 (08-27-2015, 01:57 PM)Kriven Wrote: Okay Amiibo Friends, this is the first figure I actually seriously want so... It's not confirmed yet, soooooooo you might be preordering nothing. the amiibo community is literally made of playground rumors but if you want a serious answer take it from the guy who's only missing 4 amiibo by choice: but in the US pre-ordering is a thing of the past with amiibo unless your store's name is Gamestop and it's your store-exclusive (which...actually, is highly likely here) Some good news though: stock numbers are WAY better now (most stores are getting triple the stock that they got previously, sooooo) As long as you show up to the store on launch day before opening (nowadays, i think you're OK even if you're a half hour early) you're pretty much guaranteed to get the amiibo you're looking for. The amiibo thirst has died down 'cos they don't resell for as much as they used to anymore, so you won't have to contend with the grimy flippers - just other amiibo collectors. Otherwise, just follow amiibo-related twitter feeds If all else fails and you REALLY want this amiibo, and region-specific packaging doesn't matter to you, try to buy it off of a European Amazon site (also, foreign Amazon sites do pre-orders!!!!!) Your US Amazon account works, so there shouldn't be much stopping you. Europe's amiibo stock is RIDICULOUS compared to ours so if you're willing to pay a little more but want to 100% guarantee your chances of obtaining it, this is the way to go. my two cents on its availability though: demand will probably be high because this isn't an amiibo being marketed to children at all, so chances are you'll want to act quickly on the day of launch. if you want to be a honkin' weirdo but guarantee that you get it (you sure seem like you want to) get to the store you're buying it from at least two hours early. IF there are preorders, they may go up this weekend after its announcement. GAME is purported to do them this weekend in the UK but they won't ship to the States, even if you set up a forwarding address. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Jermungandr - 08-27-2015 FORGET THE AMIIBO I FOUND SOMETHING BETTER: http://yachtclubgames.com/2015/08/troupple-king-plush/ RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - [robo9] - 08-28-2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBI9kvbaQVQ Yo RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - NICKtendo DS - 08-28-2015 You know, if* Shovel Knight is indeed going to be future Smash DLC, that means he'll get another amiibo. *keyword RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Kriven - 08-28-2015 (08-28-2015, 03:44 AM)NICKtendo DS Wrote: You know, if* Shovel Knight is indeed going to be future Smash DLC, that means he'll get another amiibo. I was thinking about this earlier. I wonder if they would actually make a Smash Amiibo or just reissue the current one in new boxes and with a slightly different base... The current Amiibo already uses a base very similar to the Smash Bros. series. If they do make a new one, it would give Shovel Knight the distinct honor of being the first third-party character to have two Amiibo. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - NICKtendo DS - 08-28-2015 It's most likely going to be based on his character select pose like everyone else, with a plastic something jammed in his somewhere. I do wonder: Is the amiibo or is it going to be compatible with Mario Maker? RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Jermungandr - 08-28-2015 Nope, it's not currently compatible with any first party Nintendo games. Although apparently it's "under consideration". RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - TomGuycott - 08-28-2015 Just wanted to point out that the Shovel Knight Amiibo has a black base with a gold top. They also seemed like they were going out of their way to show the top of the base in the video. At this point getting him in Smash is still wishful thinking, but I just found those facts a tad suspicious. Nevermind, you can see it and it's not the smash logo. Oh well. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - NICKtendo DS - 08-28-2015 What I find interesting is the fact that it is the first ,and so far only, third party amiibo that isn't part of the Smash line-up, let alone it being the first and only indie game character amiibo overall. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Jermungandr - 08-28-2015 And not actually being made by Nintendo either. |
