RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Gors - 12-11-2015 The thing is that the whole gameplay element of a fighting game is its characters. A plausible DLC content for a main Mario game would be bonus stages, because the stages themselves are the "main dish" of the game - they're what effectively extends game life. Fighting games' "main dish", however, aren't the stages - it's the characters that matter. They aren't a simple addition, they have to be balanced and worked on constantly, thus it would make sense to charge more for them. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - TomGuycott - 12-11-2015 Extra characters usually cost more for other fighting games. For example, there's a DLC character for Guilty Gear Xrd who costs like 7 dollars or something. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Jermungandr - 12-11-2015 Not to mention licensing costs for using characters that aren't theirs. It's almost surprising they're even making a profit for how low priced they're offering them for. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - NICKtendo DS - 12-14-2015 Going to watch the broadcast with my friend. Tomorrow is going to be a looooooong day (it airs 23:00 CET). (That other one above got me curious to see if anyone else had a last second prank but that movie looks too real.) RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - BullockDS - 12-15-2015 From what I've seen, the "leak" data really only contains Cloud stuff, the Chocobo Mii outfit, and a Mii costume not seen yet, and it's speculated that all this won't be the only things revealed. So they've sorta learned from the Royu debacle. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - sky_queen3 - 12-15-2015 There was supposedly an unfinished character but I'm not sure if that was real or just someone pulling our leg. RE: TSR's Super Smash Bros Thread|We have weekly Brawl tournaments - Jermungandr - 12-15-2015 I'm pretty okay with this. As disappointed as I was at first upon seeing YET ANOTHER Fire Emblem character, the fighter themself looks like it's going to be a lot of fun to play. And it looks like the sword is downplayed a lot, so that's good. Bayonetta was certainly someone I didn't expect to see. Not someone I considered but her inclusion makes me happy. She looks like she's gonna be fun as hell to play, but also extremely annoying to play against when used by high-end players. Somehow I think she's going to be quickly tourney-banned. |
