RE: Your Internet History - Jordan - 01-06-2010 soahcity when i was 11 pixeltendo joined at the phpbbhost.biz era, same day as skate. (i was around early extremely distinguished gentlemen) pt4, must've been 12 or 13 became admin probably around pt8 or so, someone got that list anywhere? went through lots of them and arguably ran PT at it's most successful and busiest period. fun times, seriously. I look back on those days with a smile. Then dazz decided that he wanted control and didn't like the way that i ran things really, so pt split, and i got bored of the shit there and closed it. sonic cult when i was 12 sonic 2 beta when i was 13 and started like researching sonic games contacting developers OcUK (my now internet home) when i was about 14 and building pcs. echoingthesound when i started loving NIN here after i got bored of not seeing pt RE: Your Internet History - Gollum - 01-06-2010 (01-05-2010, 10:20 PM)Mechant Wrote:(01-05-2010, 10:11 PM)Attack of the Jesus lizard Wrote: I had dreams of being a great flash author, web comic artist, and spriter.then what are your current dreams I have no dreams. The way y'all describe it it seems like a wonderful place that would attract users. RE: Your Internet History - Voyage 34 - 01-06-2010 I started my forum history back when I was a fan of Riviera. Then I made a sonic sprite comic and bumped with PT because of the Sonic Battle Project. I couldn't sprite shit, so I just ripped whatever I needed (THIS is my only finished rip though) For some reason, I deleted my old comics. I fucking want to read them again, they weren't actually bad. RE: Your Internet History - Vipershark - 01-07-2010 (01-06-2010, 11:41 PM)Rudolph Wrote: What actually made PT fall exactly? Dazz. Him and Jordan had... different opinions over how to run the forums. Dazz wanted a nice place where everybody could fit in (basically meaning we had to be nice to the terrible spriters and annoying 12 year olds, etc), while (I'm assuming) Jordan wanted it to be a cool place for bros to hang out. Everybody took sides, but ended up here anyway. Essentially, think of PT as Spamhaul (but like 100x better) except this kind of stuff goes on in all of the boards and not just a single spam area (within reason, of course.) tSRC is a lot closer today to how PT was, but a lot of the cool members from back then don't come around anymore/don't sprite. The "first" version of tSRC was basically Nazi Dazz forcing us to be nice to everyone, and with Zee as a mod everybody hated it. A few of us stayed back on PT or came on both, but PT eventually shut down, leaving all of us at tSR. Then there were a few shitstorms over Zee being a mod and abusing his powers, Chad got banned a few times, tSRC got hacked a couple of times, Zee ragequit tSR and got demodded, then everybody stopped caring. And from there, it eventually became what it is today. The people who stayed at PT got bored of nothing new going on, and all ended up here anyway. RE: Your Internet History - Sol - 01-07-2010 My history: Went to the Nintendo website in 2004 to look for SM64DS tips, saw the Nsider forums, decided to join. I used sprites from TSR for various stupid little things. Around 2006, I noticed it had a forum, so I joined Pixeltendo. I started off really badly, posting a simple sprite edit or two, was put off by the experience and didn't come back until mid-2007, and was apparently less annoying and at least adequate at spriting, so I stayed. I was there for all that schism shit, but stayed with Pixeltendo. A bit later, I made an account here as well, as I followed all the different iterations of Pixeltendo after the split, until eventually PixelCore was created. Now TSR and PixelCore are the two forums I choose to frequent the most. RE: Your Internet History - Keychain - 01-07-2010 Man I really miss those days, I mean way back when we had the Sonic Battle Project and most people actually sprited. RE: Your Internet History - Raytheon - 01-07-2010 i remember when i sprited *sigh* good times. RE: Your Internet History - Gors - 01-07-2010 My internet history starts at some glitching site (I can't recall what was its name); I contributed there by exploiting some glitches in some games. After that, I went to MFGG (it was around this time I got into sprites). I did some sprite sheets there, until I got tired of spriting Mario over and over again. Then I joined Starmen.net (after discovering EB and beating it). I did little to no stuff there (I did the smilies for the forum, though). I believe I joined PT around that time, too. I joined tSR, YT and dA after that shit, and those are the places I frequent the most. RE: Your Internet History - SinX - 01-07-2010 Started out on various RPG Maker forums. My friend(Spike Xian) showed me PT a few years ago when he joined. I joined up and fell in love with pixel art. Those days were awesome. While I was still on PT I tried a few other spriting forums(which all sucked compared to pt), became an active member on Grass City, started playing Ragnarok Online and hanging on their forums, Became GM on FrostRO(HyoRo)...quit that cause the server went to shit, PT went to shit soon after that. So I pretty much gave up on the interwebs. |
