Very old .mdl files from an obscure old dead game. I would like to rip them. - mechlai - 07-26-2019 A long time ago, I used to play this old mmo called Ozworld Global. Shortly before the game died, I managed to install it and log in for old times sake. The game files are still on my system despite the game being permanently offline and oh what I wouldn't give to be able to get my hands on the actual models from this game for personal use, since I played this game long before I started using 3D editing software. The trouble is that the model files are all in .mdl format, and it seems to be a different format than any converter I've seen/used has been able to even recognize. It didn't work with other converters that read .mdl files. This game was from the early 2000s I believe. Before WoW. The textures are all .Dxr too. I imagine that'll be it's own beast to figure out. I would be willing to spend a great deal of time researching how to dissect this game for it's components, though I don't even know where to start XD I would be ecstatic if anyone could offer a solution, or even a point in the right direction. Pick an MDL and DXR file and stuff them in a ZIP so the website accepts them. If that fails, use a cloud storage service such as Google Drive. |
