Sad thing is the next update won't be a fix..
IT'LL BE AN ANIMATION! That's what I've currently been working on. I'm hoping to get it done soon but I've been busy with other things. What I got made so far, I must say, it's turning out quite nice.

The idle is slowly getting there. His head going in all directions is time consuming because since the light is coming from the left, I have to make all angles have that type of shading. T_T
Wondering why I'm doing this? Well, his idle is insane. I'll explain it:
I got inspired by this remix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBQ6w-KofGI His left hand opens up and clenches back into a fist with his chains(arms)slightly going up and down with his eyes move from side to side. For his right hand, his hammer will lift slighty up and down.
Just like all idles in M&L3, there will be an animation that is inbetween a few frames of the normal idle. His head will spin in all directions, going up and going down when his head goes into the normal in battle direction. While this is happening, his hammer will be spinnning as well. It's pretty complex but I hope you get the general idea.

I still think his hammer hand should be out more and bigger.
Also the link doesn't work.
I'll think of something to add later then.
Idk whether to make it bigger or not. Some say the size is perfect.

Best of luck to both of you, this is twice as good as getting one member to make a character in M&L3 style.
Star, I would suggest that you perhaps make the mouth also close slightly when he clenches his fist. Not all the way, just a bit. I think it might bring even more life to him...even though he's a machine. Well that certainly sounded better in my head.
And the hammer hand could be wider. It looks small compared to the other.

Well, got carried away with other things and I didn't realise it til just a while ago that there's only 3 days left to this duel. I am lucky if I get one animation done.
I started working on his "awakening" animation til I decide to work on his idle again. As for his left hand on the idle...ignore it, it's just a doodle. His hand will be different from that.
If you're wondering why he's in chains, I thought of this concept of how you would meet Smithy in M&L3. The concept is here but it contains spoilers of M&L3...
Inside Bowser's Castle, Mario and Luigi find another secret room, just like they did with the shroobs. This explains where Fawful's minions like the FawBot(Idk it's real name)and his flying saucer robot came from, Smithy was brainwashed to do Fawful's bidding. The only reason he was even lucky enough to capture him is that he was weak from his fight with Mario and his friends in SMRPG. After all of his hardwork, he is chained up(before the brainwash effects go away) and has made himself go into a deep sleep(side effect of the brainwash). When awaken by Mario and Luigi, he goes on a rage, breaking the chains that hold him captive.. I'm startin to like Smithy though, he's an interesting character. Wish I could've done more with him in this duel like his Tank attack and so on.
