Well that can be arranged. But what about the pose? Also, Mr. Game & Watch stance.
I'm having trouble with Samus. :/
Better??? It lost its shine, but I think it has more definition now. New version at the right.

rather than using a 3D model thats clearly not in a sideview perspective as a reference, using the Super Metroid Sprited would make way more sense for this work's purpose. also, kirby looks rather authistic, compared to his often happy and joyful character, i smile or two would make him look way more alive than he is now. and just use two colors on Mr game & watch. he shouldn't be AA, but thats just for my personal taste.

That will defeat the purpose of spriting SSBB sprites in style respect to the Wii counterpart.
Anyway, it looks bad without the AA.

but these wii models that you're using are based on characters from, in most cases, sideview 2D sprites. my point is, if you're portraying them in a side view perspective, wouldn't it be more accurate to use an already sideview sprite or at least a concept art of a character like samus? i can understand that kirby or mario are rather simply to be made from basically any reference(if any is needed) but samus armor is full of details that might not work if you are based on a screenshot(wich isnt at least a good quality one).

I'm not tracing the sprites. I'm recreating the 3D models into 2D sprites that look like they make sense.
I can't really say yet which of the newer Samus sprites looks better. The reason is that it's kinda hard to see them properly with that background color. So, please change the background color to something very different from any of the colors present in the sprite, like bright purple or green or something (as long as it doesn't burn the eyes...).
BTW, I don't see why it's a problem to base your sprites off of a screenshot from a 3d game. That's what we've doing in the Smash Bros Project.

Just when you taught Samus couldn't get any better or worse. A new Samus is up!
I'm getting crazy about this because I could never get the near-perfect Samus!!!

In the base sprite his feet should both be facing forward and his nose should be tilted slightly upward. His nose should be tilted slightly up in the third pose as well. The nose could also be bigger. But aside from that it's looking good.

Everyone in the lineup has been revamped to be in style with each other. Everyone now has clear and smooth outlines. Maybe I'll update the animations soon.

Samus Updated?
I might redo/rework some of the sprites in this small lineup because I have just learned about selouts (I know, I've been spriting for a year without knowing this). I'll redo most palletes too because the monitor I was working on was really dark. Also, I'm still learning about saturation and hues on sprites.

I like the way they look. Very cool. Also, I understand that Samus is some of the time very difficult to make, but you've got it perfectly. I have no complaints.
