Charmander Tiny Toons style

TBH, I liked the feet of the original more, if only because it fit the cartoon's art-style alot better. Everyone (regardless if animal or human) seemed to have huge exaggerated feet, and large eyes, which the original sprite did in fact capture.
the new sprite looks a lot more like the original proportions of Charmander, but I'd say it look a little less in style. :V

Lol, that was exactly what my friend and I were thinking So I think I'll keep them both and send them to the guy that is making the pokedex and he'll choose the one he prefers Thanks for the comment dude ^^

Do you plan on making more of these, because you just left me wanting more(in a good way)

I think your main problem when doing this sprite is that you were trying to copy the tiny toon sprite style too much and not the tiny toon art style. when the original spriters made these sprites they wanted to copy the style of the tv show and making into a sprite format, and that's what you should be focusing on, rather than the aspects of the sprite itself because in the end, you'll end up eye tracing too much and producting a cheap knockoff.
I made a quick edit to your sprite to get my point across a little better. hope you don't mind. Notice the enlarged cheek areas and cartoony crossed eyes. Even though charmander doesn't have a white area in his pupils, it's eccential that you play around with his design when drawing him in a new light. Thanked by: rayman18

Thanks a lot, that was things I was wondering about a "changing style" sprite... I'll try to rework bok first and last one I made with these tips Sorry for the double post but there is the more cartoonish ever seen ** AND YES I KNOW , I got back too the big feet because I'm trying to make it more cartoonish and less charmander(ish?) ** Hope I got it

I'd say that there are too many colours on the flame, and it could also be a better shape. Most cartoons tend to use 2-3 bold colours for the flames so not to make it looks washed out.
Maybe something like this: http://www.how-to-draw-cartoons-online.c...n_fire.gif

well I base myself on the explosion at the bottom of that sprite sheet :
http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/ti...sheet/7666 So anyway... I give it a try and there's 2 tries: One with original colours ( a ) The other with colours of the cartoonfire ( b )

i think B looks better
