I didn't read the whole thread, but I think I've got the idea of who has and hasn't been decided. Here's what I think:

Sonic: In Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, you could unlock an orange spacesuit that left only his head exposed. This means you could give him the full alternate costume special without needing to change his skin tone, and it'll look kind of cool.

Ike: Ike should use his Radiant Dawn costume for his alt., and his PoR one for his default.

I like the idea of using Peach's Sunshine costume

Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong both have a costume from the Strikers series that could be put to use.

Yoshi: In Paper Mario you stumbled across a tribe of Native Island Yoshi's. The chief had a feather in his head and some wristbands or whatever. If you wanted to do something more drastic, stylizing Yoshi's costume off the nameless Yoshi from Thousand Year Door might also work?

Great ideas for Ike and Diddy. For DK, I'm actually leaning toward a crown (from King of Swing, I think) and boxing gloves from his cameo in Punch Out. That way we get a reference to King Hippo as well. If people don't like that, the Strikers outfit would be a great idea.

For meta knight you should use a galactica knight costume, you know galactica knight right? He's the final boss in metaknightmare ultra. He's like metaknight, only with wings that have feathers, his mask is like metaknights only with a cut down the middle like a +, and his sword is pink.

I just had an idea for Kirby. What if his alt would be just be different colors until he copies someone. Then he wears a hat equal to their alt! Like alt Kirby sucks in Mario and gets his Doctor hat instead.

I'm not sure how we'd differentiate between the Kirbies though. Would "alternate" Kirbies use a different palette? Otherwise the regular and the alts would conflict with each other and next thing you know you have two Kirbies on the screen that are the same exact color and the only differentiation would be the hat, if they get one.

I think that Kirby copying alt hats is a great idea. His color could stay the same though, just for less work.

The diver helmet is one of his attacks, and Fierce Deity is more like a super-form, and may be out of place as simply a costume change.
