Yeah I've thought about the collapsing part, it's just a matter of how to have the sprite fade away when the instance of the enemy is destroyed...

it would be super cool if their bodies became part of the terrain after they died

I was actually thinking that they could melt after dying, or fade into snowflakes and blow away. I just know I need some way of getting rid of the instance of them. Them becoming a part of the terrain would be cool, but I would have to keep those instances active in the room, and it would be odd on some of the other stages like the volcano and cityscape...

i like the snowflake idea
OKAY ANOTHER QUESTION!
I'm kinda stuck on coming up with a melee weapon for nicolas when he's a kid and doesn't have the scarf. He already uses a slingshot as one of his weapons, but I'd like him to have something else for when he has no ammo. Any suggestions? I'm trying to keep with the whole winter village theme for most of the first chapter of the story, so he'd need to use something you'd find in a snow village... I've thought about him using a hockey stick, but it doesn't really seem to suit him all that well... and sharp weapons like axes and spears wouldn't really be in character for him either...

hrm, how about a mallet? for some reason i can see people in a snow village having that.

A club or a large stick that he finds?

I've thought of those things, but I dunno... they just seem too barbaric. I'm kinda looking for something you wouldn't normally think of as a weapon like a wrench or something along the lines of that.

An ice pick?

hrm, you are right that they are kinda barbaric seeing vikings used them. you could use those things that you scrape ice off your windshield with, thats about all i got.
It can also be something you'd find a child owning. I've thought about a yo-yo but I'm not going to make any definite decisions before I've went through all the possible choices.
