Metroid Other M is not exactly a 2D Metroid but seems to feature a lot 2D gameplay on it.

Also Metroid Dread is also in the works. It could end up 2D. It could be 3D. It could follow what Other M sets with the mix of 2D and 3D gameplay.

No not really because a lot of "core" gamers gave up on the Wii and just Grandpa and little sister play it.

So you get your most epic Star Fox game since 64 on the Wii. Guess what? Its gonna sell pretty lousy because Grandma and baby cousin rather play jump rope with their balance board!

nintendo is just being stupid there were fans complaining about less M rated games on there systems. They gave 'em what they want. It turns out they suck. Now fans are complaing weres the new zelda/kirby and crap then the start ignoring them making SH!T like dsi insted of games b/c they cant handle there rivals being better then them in sales for a month even if they have the money to make good games

Here's the thing about hardcore titles on the Wii: the system itself has already propogated to quite a few homes, so if you don't own one yourself, you're likely to know someone who does. Because of this, it's easy to rent a title that could be considered "hardcore" and give it a run on a friend's Wii with little effort. Hardcore players might be thick, but they're far from stupid.

Yeah but there success won't come from the fans. That's what I'm trying to say.

Anything towards the fans is just to make us happy, not to make them rich.

They wanna be on top they gotta make Wii Fit Puppy Party. It sucks but its true.

@Rai: "hardcore" gamers are pretty stupid. Why do you think they'd label themselves suchly? I had the pleasure of meeting a few. They only know what they hear. And they hear that Wii has no "hardcore" games.

They saw this commercial that showed family and friends wiggling around happily.

First impression is very important. People believe that's all what the Wii is about. Because people are stupid.

On one hand I'm pretty glad that Kirby is coming on the Wii. However, one must realize this.

Kirby games are casual.

Yes, you can argue that all games are casual, which all games are in actuality. Even a game like Team Fortress 2 is in essence casual.

However, even in terms of hardcore / casual, Kirby is still casual. In comparison to the Super Mario series the series have always been easy. In fact, the games are always marketed as such.

So, I find it pretty ironic that these "fans" want more "hardcore" games, demanding a Kirby game, while Kirby in itself is far from hardcore.

My only reason I want Kirby by the way is because he's cute.

That is all.

So you think the fans would rather line Nintendo's pockets than be happy?

It's funny, 'cos you make it sound like Nintendo is incapable of making casual games and games for the fans simultaneously.

There's a difference between stupid and lazy. Anyone can find good stuff if they look hard enough. Look at the amount of shovelware on the DS, but there's also some great stuff there, too: Dementium, Moon, Metroid Prime: Hunters, Super Mario 64 DS, GTA: Chinatown Wars.

The entire "Wii is for kids olo" mentality is the same kind of bullshit thinking pioneered by those "Halo is only good Xbox game olo" cockstranglers.

Indeed. Halo isn't that good.

And with that, I mean there are better games on the XBox, I assume. Or at least we might hope.

Halo: Combat Evolved was serviceable. Halo 2 and 3 flushed it all straight to hell, but I must admit, with a head hanging in shame, that ODST interests me, if only because of the revert back to CE's health and weapons systems.

I could type up a list, if you like?

ODST was pretty good up until the trainwreck ending

really

no one cares about manface Dare and dickwad Buck
what the hell happened to Rookie?

Hell, what happened to the entire team? Romeo was close to dying, and Mickey had the most personality of that entire group, and Dutch was a badass, and they could have invested in an extra day to explain what happened to all of them once everything was said and done.

I don't know, but I do believe that great things will happen once the Wii HD hits. Nintendo already has some promising titles under their belt they've announced, but speaking for myself; I would really, really love to see another StarFox game playing true to the N64 classic and another F Zero. They've been long overdue, and it surprises me nothing has happened related to those two franchises in awhile.

I played ODST very briefly the other day, I think Nathan Fillion is Buck? I dunno, the story kinda jumped around way too much for me to handle.

I know. When I saw Captain Falcon in Brawl with those design changes, I immediately thought that it would mean a new F-Zero game soon. Like Roy in Melee hinted the new Fire Emblem game, like the many Kirby Superstar references in Brawl prepared the people for the Kirby SuperStar Ultra remake for the DS, but it just didn't show up.
As well as that StarFox stage in Brawl was so polished up that it really looked like a hint to a new StarFox game.

But those just didn't come.
We have two or three Mario titles per year, but it has been years that we don't have mainstream games, or even games from some franchises. That really makes me sad.
