Player Pitch Pit (Discussion Complete)
The seems even sillier. Not all hits are instant knock backs. What about an attack that knocks the enemy skyward?

Red goes slightly diagonal and knocks Ashley up with him, but then goes up straight after the two collide

Plus, if the player has good enough timing, they could play through an entire round without taking damage ever. They could easily dodge or roll right when they know they're about to take damage, and Red takes all of it and goes flying. Ashley is unharmed, Red is on the other side of the screen, now the two aren't synchronized. It's Ice Climbers all over again.

Nah I never cared to have Ashley to begin with. Its just when people are trying to come up with ideas I always like to jump. Its a problem.

It's not really a problem. It'd be great if you ever get a beginning designer job, since you likely won't be working on your own stuff at first...

Not to mention, there's always a possibility that you'll turn something you hated into something you love!

As for your idea, the mentioned problem can probably be addressed by having Red float around when not in use, and he moves pretty fast (and through walls) in order to keep near to Ashley. Ashley could grab him whenever she needs to use him, and when she's done with him, he goes right behind her again.

I think that I don't understand well the problem, but... Maybe Red become in her staff when she doesn't use Red?

I'm gonna kind of go off topic, but

what about NiGHTS? Sorry if it was already suggested or denied.

I mean, if Sonic is in there, couldn't NiGHTS be there?

what about:
B- a spin like Zelda, but actually has a little boundary that if you are too near, you get hurt. Able to be held as long as desired, but remain immobile
UP B- Be able to control him in free flight for about three seconds. Making a circle while flying can make him do a paraloop.
Side B- Turn into rocket nights and bolt to the left or right. Can be held to charge. Similar to Pikachu's side B
Down B- bends down and shoots magical stuff left and right. If in air, it does straight down. Kinda like ice climbers, but different when in air.

final smash: works like pikachu and Super sonic, flies around and is invincible. Like yoshi, can use a to shot things. Also, can create paraloop from flying in a circle
