Need critique for sprite

Question 
the sprite in my sig. I'm trying out a new style.

C+C?
I also need to know if I should add the body.

Whoa, you made that? I thought it was an official GBA sprite. Surprise
The highlight on top of his head is too harsh. And the highlights on the side of his face are a bit jagged.

But overall, this is good. Smile

I agree with trout, try rounding the highlight on the top a little but still it's really good.

actually, i think the top highlight is good now

still not digging side highlights, but everything else looks great

well, it makes the hat stand out more. the white makes the black outline better. Plus, that's how it's originally drawn.

I was refering to the aa on them, not their existence as a whole.

They could stand to be a bit smoother

I like the new one better and the body is interesting. Is this your own original work? Because it's very interesting and good.

ah, I switched the colors. I ended up leaving only one because with two colors, it looked too smooth.

before you start animating, could you try not using pure black for the outline? that way it would blend a bit more(thus making the transition between shading and lineart more soft) and probably look better.

hm, I never thought of that. I was going for a GBA-ish not smooth style, but I'll try it.

I think that the side highlights in the first sprite could be less harsh and be more like the top one.

The small one is great, but it could use some AA to make it look like the first sprite.
