Ya I agree. Use Nin's colors. Also, try and make her hair less square by her arms.

I don't know about the body but those are proper sized hands. Her head is still too big. Her head is not comically bigger like Mario's is. Its closer to human body to head proportions.

I also tried make her dress more three dimensional rather than flat.

As for the head, I've taken a few notes...



Notice the head should be about the same size as the torso. Also the width of her hair should not extend past the shoulders. The top curl of her hair is shorter than the bottom not the same length.

That would be to masculine. A more feminine structure would be the way it is now.

i think we just need to shrink the old head a bit

And it needs more internal black lines to define it. That or make more contrast between colors
