You should also try a more traditional (to the original) face.
I can picture it easily being pulled off nicely. But if you want to keep it in your own style that's perfectly fine.

I think he means that her face looks 'too real' (atleast that's what I think). I actually think she needs to look more anime-ish.

I like the Miku a lot, the outline especially. It might look even better with more contrast in the shades.

actually, now that I look at it again, NinX is right.
You pretty much nailed her hair and body (aside from the minor shading issue from earlier) but the face doesn't really look like her.

It looks too much like sand, that's supposed to be water right? Make it... curve a bit more at the top?
