My first (complete) Genesis sheet. Gemfire's portraits and font.

And, I would need to make sure I got the right game, and that it works in DOS Box, and that I can play it. But if all goes well, I will try the dos version of Gemfire. However! Before I attempt this, assuming I got everything, should I bother ripping portraits when they'll look something like Ander's here?

OK. There's still an MSX version, but for Royal Blood. And that requires me to fight the Lankshire family on equal terms as opposed to my terms (hundreds of troops from thin air/Romance of the Three Kingdoms/cloning/editing memory values/editing hex values, hundreds of gold from secret mines in territories/Romance of the Three Kingdoms/alchemy/editing memory values/editing hex values, and hundreds of food from hidden farms/Romance of the Three Kingdoms/supermarkets/editing memory values/editing hex values)

And don't worry about answering my question from my previous post. Between Oregon Trail, and asking another site I submit sprites to saying they were cool with it. Well. Had the sheet on hand, worse that happens is its ignored a few months and then rejected.

DO NOT FORGET THAT THERE IS A SUBMISSION IN MY PREVIOUS POST!

Don't worry, it was a matter of miscommunication. It happened to me too, once.

Been a while since I've submitted anything (so long, I'm on page 2 as I'm typing this). Took a break for a while. And decided to check the map units for the Genesis and SNES version of Langrisser 2 [Langrisser Hikari for Mega Drive, and Der Langrisser for Super Famicom] since one of the main forums I visit used to have a forum game, and was wondering on if it would be possible for me to set one up and have little images for the units one could use for battling [no idea if I'd still do such a game, but at least the Genesis version sprites were easy to get]. So, why not, here's a sheet.
I probably won't do a sheet of the battle sprites, though the tiles need the help of an emulator's built in tile viewer (or the old fashioned but still applicable screenshots). The tricky part would be initiating the battles. Which is made easier since this game has a code that allows you to take as many actions as you wish in a single turn (victory on turn 1), and are not limited to just moving 3000 times with your own units, but even enemy units and NPC units (though "end turn" still has enemies and NPCs make their single legitimate actions) though you can't have your people attack NPCs (and save before using some units, attacking with civilians... is a bad thing to do [they stand there crying, enemies attack, any survivors just stand there crying until you reset the game or system (enemies attacking them though goes back to the main map and gameplay continues as normal)].

Well. Enough of my rambling. You came for a sheet, and here's a sheet. After the standard section and sheet icons Wink

Played and finished a small (with cheat codes and a map) Japanese Famicom game called Space Hunter. Just need to compile and arrange the swimming sprites (all two of them...) with the rest of the animations (all three of them [excluding standing still and the flame from the jetpack]). Should probably study if enemies are completely random, or set by planet at random of which appears on screen.
Now as I said, this would be a Famicom sheet, and most of us know how artists for NES games loved using all three colors for a character, so I'll post these on a black background.

Oh well. Today is a Langrisser sheet for the little map people. No plan on doing maps due to too many animated parts, but amusingly are 24 x 24 tiles while the little people are 16 x 16 (with little info under them same tile).

OK. Enough rambling. Got two other sites to post this to, and one of them I'll need to translate the post into German.

First things first. Langrisser II sheet is still pending or saved in secret.
Second. Bet you didn't expect me to get another sheet out this soon did you?

Bokosuka Wars for the Famicom. While playing this, I think I've learned a few things on how the game works. Battles are random, yes. But like Civ1 for the PC, you've got the power of your unit and the power of the enemy unit. The computer sort of throws all the numbers into a hat and picks a number, so at the start, kill a few weak units with your king and raise his power, and by the end, the enemy will have a little less than 25% chance to win a battle (and cause you to restart the entire bloody game).
Seriously, while you should save state on emulator any time the king can enter battle, against the weak guys with 10 - 40 power, you can wade right through a bunch without too much fear. Just be sure to save every few in case the the RNG pulls out one of those 10 out of 380 numbers in the virtual hat.

OK, the sheet is pretty much damn near everything except for the alternating dots that make up the HUD background, the ASCII logo (that either was dummied out, or appears at maybe some credits when you beat the game like I don't know, 4, 8, 10, 20, 100 times), and the blocks that make up "WOW! YOU LOSE!" and "BRAVO! YOU WIN!" I'm posting this onto two other sites, so if any of you want those elements, ASCII will be a guess in color, and the "WOW! YOU LOSE!" and "BRAVO! YOU WIN!" blocks will be the entire phrase.

Additional: You don't accept sprites from rom hacks that actually make an effort to change the graphics do you? Link to what heck sleep is preventing me from talking about.

Hello, long time no see. Here's yet another Gemfire portraits sheet, except, this is from the PC98 version of the game, so its actually Royal Blood.
Like all my other Royal Blood/Gemfire sheets, I based the layout on the SNES data order. And actually, amusingly enough, my adding the Japanese names to the SNES Gemfire sheet helped me figure out some of the characters when I was organizing this sheet. Once I figure out the controls of the MSX2 version of Royal Blood, I'll make a rip of that later (couldn't find any mouse support Sad )

By the way, the Royal Blood sheet goes into "Other Systems" until we get a PC-98 section or Hell freezes over. Whichever happens first Big Grin

OK. Linking to the sheets directly instead of posting them since I have two submissions that are both 1356 pixels tall. Blame it on bad organization through good organization, or not fully planning ahead.

Hi. This is an unexpected submission from me, partly because of when the last time I submitted a sheet was over a month ago (almost going onto two).
First off, many thanks to ShinDarkfox at Sprite Database for mentioning the emulator Mednafen. It has a built in tile viewer and supports the PC Engine (among with other systems, but this is the main reason).

You do quite a job on these! I'm impressed! I'd love to see more from you on Gemfire. It looks like a cool game.
Thanked by:
Thank you, and as you can see, there are plenty of versions to try that are also in English.

Well. If someone can let me know if there are any PC-98 emulators with save state support, and can get me a save with the dragon (or controlling the King's family [only non-playable family in all four scenarios]), I'd be willing to get the rest of the monsters.

I still have Royal Blood for the MSX to get the portraits for. So I'll try my best to do those if I can figure out the controls.
