Just Larry right now, but I want to make all eight Bowser's children.
And yes, I'm forcing myself to a color limit, for the first time. Three shades for the skin and three more for the shell, hair, eyes, and other things.

if you're forcing yourself to a color limit, don't force yourself to only use certain parts of that palette in certain parts of the sprite (3 shades for skin, etc, like you mentioned). You essentially eliminate any chance of using each color to its fullest by doing that

throw some greens and blues in with the yellow as mid tones, and throw some yellows and oranges in with the blues and greens to highlight or help shade or something

you're making that palette infinitely more limiting than it needs to be

Something like this?

I suppose you can barely see the difference. An example could be great.

Same exact pose, but was it traced? Better colors like 1up said, and you may want to go with a different pose as well.

thats the problem when you just pick colors from other sprites.

when you use them outside said sprites, they look ugly and wont work together.
