Why don't you just sub the forums.

Beautifully said in the update, Dazz. This will keep TSR thriving with new life as it enters its new fields. There's several textures I've wanted to rip but felt limited and somewhat pressured into keeping to sprites. I can't see how this could possibly be a bad thing, since it's an expansion rather than a total overhaul. With this new update TSR will be able to go from being the one-stop place for sprites to being the one-stop place for everything. Seriously though, great work guys. Really.

This is FANTASTIC! I always wanted to rip sounds but so far, the only place I've known was an RPG game making site.
But now I can finally join a community dedicated to it. Thanks guys.

Holy crap a 3 wonders avatar? Awesome.
As for the new sections, meh - they don't interest me. Galbadia Hotel has MP3 music for a lot of games. http://www.nes-snes-sprites.com/NES%20So...racks.html has a lot of NES music and Zophar has a lot of sfcs and nsf fiels which can easily be converted to MP3s. I have no use for textures or models but it would be nice to see what people do with them. As long as the new sites end up looking like the current one I'm happy. Best of look keeping enough staff to update them all.

Will custom textures be allowed.
You know I have feeling there's going to be a decline in custom submissions now that people are allowed to submit all this other stuff.

Of course custom textures would be allowed. It would be kinda asinine if it wasn't because custom of everything else is allowed.

Stupid question, but does the Sound Resource also accept music or just sound effects?

Custom textures is a hard one though, since... Well, keeping it strictly gaming is pretty hard. I suppose custom textures based on characters is fine.
And the sounds resource is SFX ONLY.

There's so much going on I'm ridiculously confuzzled.
Can we get some tutorials up? I'd love to help, but have no idea how to go about gertting these things. Some really, really, beginner guides wouldn't go amiss here.

On Galbadia a lot of the soundtracks have a SFX track at the end which can be easily split into separate sounds.
tSR is an archive of stuff at the end of the day, wouldn't say it was unique in what it offers. And before anyone chirps in about a unique community I'm talking about content. It is however, led by Dazz, and well, if somebody else tried expanding into so many different things I'm sure it would crash and burn pretty quickly. I'm pretty sure Dazz knows what he's doing (not sure prematurely releasing these was the best idea though) and it will grow to become something huge and awesome.

I was actually thinking we could keep a spriting section on its own, or upgrade it to a "creativity" section which could have spriting stuff and maybe the creativity forum and game development shit.
and then THE RESOURCE section which would sprite submission model/texture/sound etc.

I think the addition of these sites are awesome- I always thought TSR should have a section for models. I'll be dumping the models I have to there.

Actually, that's pretty sensible. I'd be ok with this format. |
