Part of that is Nintendo's fault. We only recently started to get FE games. We have more FE than Mother, but Mother had the luck of being released when there were fewer games, fewer systems, and a more niche audience.

Hi, this is my first post on the Spriters Resource. I really like the Roy, but I'll make him totaly diferent from the original, I have a lot of ideas for his moves, so let's begin with the specials. I think he can lost the sword when his damage go under 80%, but we will talk about that.
With sword =

*up B: My idea is to make something rellated to the Eliwood (dragon slayer), like he jumps up and descends with a great slash.
*side B:Roy can drag his sword in the ground and when he meet an enemy he swing up making a up smash with the sword.
*B:i an working on that, but some ideas bright my mind: can be a combo, a grab or something for repair the sword.
*down B:counter (obvious Embarassed)
Without sword=

*up B:a grab like captain falcon i think it will be cool, but he throw down the enemy.
*side B:like the side B with sword, but he can make an super punch Smile
*B: my idea is make a combo with punchs.
*down B: he can try to repair sword.

Final Smash: Heavens Seal!

The head is ok but could use some work, but everything else is too disproportionate for Roy, try revamping this a little. Not bad for your first post.

It looks pretty good, though there are a few problems.
I'd say he's a bit too tall. He should probably be maybe 2-3 pixels shorter than Marth (not counting the hair). His right arm (our left) looks like it may be a bit long.
He might also be a bit too buff, for the skinny little 15 year-old we see in FE6.

Also, I think his stance is a bit too much like Marth's, but changing that would require designing a new stance for him.

Overall, the sprite itself is good, and the pixels themselves look good. I especially like the hair. Just needs a few adjustments.

As for the moveset, you might want to discuss that in the character tweaks topic.
When coming up with your moveset, you'll want to come up with the sort of theme behind the character: Marth is about attacking your enemy quickly and gracefully, while Ike is about hitting hard; what would Roy be about?

Anyway, I'm not so sure I like the idea of his sword breaking, as much as it would fit in FE. If it did break, I think he should still continue to use it, but just reduce its length and damage a bit.
For up-B, you might want something somewhat less like Ike's and Marth's, so maybe a forward flip with the sword spinning around (think Kirby's aerial sword attack from the Kirby games)?

Roy is supposed to be smaller then Marth.

I did a size comparison with Marth and the sprite you made is both taller
and wider then our current Marth sprite.

Sploder you're right Roy is to tall xP, but I'll change that ;]. And about the style, I think he can use more atacks rellated to ground. The up B will be cool with your idea, but he will jump spining his sword around him?

Now his torso looks a bit to tall compared to his legs.

Make the torso a few pixels shorter, if you will.

I suggest you just completely remove his right (Our left) arm. Just for now.

The right arm looks incredibly awkward. And his face basically just looks like Roy with red spikey hair shopped on. You have to realize, Roy and Marth have different postures, as well as facial structures.

actually, his iddle is very similar to the marth's one, he only just hop more.
yeah his torso is too tall, and now the skirt looks too small.

I assuming that you were mentioning Marth in the place o Roy, and if i'm correct i disagree with you. Comparing the two, they are very diferent (only the pallete are the same).

I was referring to the sprite above, not Roy himself. In Super Smash Brothers, the two characters have noticeably different facial structure, as well as features.

If you can go more in depth on what exactly you mean here, it would be much appreciated.

I just though that you have confused yourself and wrote Roy instead of Marth.

What I was saying is that the Roy's face looks pretty different from the Marth that we are using, if you look closely. Although there is some similaritys, they make the sprites look more like Roy (thats what I was thinking).

@Exez, my upB suggestion is somewhat similar to how Kirby's side B worked in the air; he would be flipping in the air while holding his sword out.
