So, it's a full on frontal view? I'm a little worried about how certain characters, like peach, would look on it.
decided to be less lazy and show you what I mean. I probably didn't move it down as much as I was supposed to (by 1 pixel) oops

No, is not. There's a reason the character's feet are spaced. Its still a WIP. I think may actually go back to step 2 again.
The view should be from slightly above. See the demo.

Your comment confused me a little...what did you mean by the character's feet are spaced? The reason I thought that this might look strange is because peach's dress doesn't work at the same angle as the bg, like, it's got a little 3D top-down kind of quality to it if you get what I mean. Volume, or something. So it'd look better if either she was redone to fit or if the background had a little angular quality to it, like the playstation Mega Man X games (oh me and my mega manss) only less exaggerated
or you could've meant that the bg is going to do something like that and my comment's useless idk
edit: ope ton got me

What Ton said is what I basically meant.
Character's feet are spaced because the levels are supposed to be part top down view. Which I forgot to mention in the first post. I just haven't added the top down floor to the level.
Does this clear things up?

It's not how the stage is meant to look (Its obviously not going to really be so one sided.) But that's the Top-Down view we need.

It's better, but I think maybe the overhead view should show a little more of the platform! Make it like how Smith's Final Destination looks.

Like brawler said it should show more of the platform (not just where you stand) so i decided to make an edit, not the best, but it does help show how the field could have more depth.

Nice I like it, I think that the path that the characters walk on should also light up to tell the difference between the path and the platform itself better

i think we should work some more purples and blues into this, thats kind of been the common thing in all the final destinations

Im curious does it have to be blocky (Isometric like)?
EDIT: No disrespect but i have to disagree with that perspective lesson
