It would be neat if you put some low-contrast outlines within the shadow to give it more depth - as it stands, it feels like a way-too-big empty space.

the girl, tho, has a cluttered head. And maybe could benefit more if it was less anime and more anatomically correct (though that's what I think). You could also make her bigger to equilibrate with the shadow more too; right now, the shadow is like, the whole piece. Would be nice if you focused the girl a little more too.

I guess this is just a stylistic comment, but I don't think you really needed the outline when the shadow is so dark. Actually, because the shadow's darker, the lighter outline is making it seem more like banding than an outline.

i think you could cut through the mass on the left a bit more, and refining the general shape of the shadow could be something to do.
