I don't really believe in such a thing as having "good" or "bad" taste, it is merely how other people view your opinions and does not justify whether or not you are able to like things that most others would like or are classified as "popular" because you enjoy something that is under-appreciated. I am perfectly happy with my likings and choices and I'm not changing because someone else disagrees as that would be denying my natural feelings and thus would be changing a part of who I am so therefore I don't give a stink if this board doesn't like Chronicles or Bomberman Jetters GameCube because I know that the larger margin of people out there like them too.

Actually, the "larger margin" of people has never even played either of those games.

Still, it's pretty much a dick move to come nto a thread about talking about the games you enjoy playing against scrutiny, and then start insulting people's taste.

Smash Bros Brawl. I honestly don't understand the hate it gets, and I honestly prefer it over Melee.

I meant that out of those who have played the games, there are more people that liked them than those that dislike them (their scores are in the positive area).

Regardless of that I could have played a game that someone here liked that no one else does and I could say that it was terrible too, but I don't do that and believe me there are many many worse games than Chronicles. Just one of those things, so that's why I say I don't care if somebody thinks it's bad because if I did it'd bother me and it's not worth worrying about.

EDIT: [robo9]'s post is win. Except Brawl seriously got way more love than hate. Melee's not better.

but it is, melee is a much better designed game.
melee actually bothered to be a game that people on multiple levels of skill can enjoy. a game with depth, a game that wasnt bloated, a game that could be engineered to be enjoyed based upon what the players were looking for; brawl is bloated and it lacks the kind of depth melee had and the way its mechanics are handled are actually counter-productive to the idea of having a game with depth. the random tripping, for example; as far as i know, it cant be turned off. it serves no purpose other than to introduce external obfuscations
etc.


you're free to enjoy brawl more, but melee is still a better-built game. sakurai himself has pretty much acknowledged that, although not quite in those terms



pretty much, people need to start seeing that preference and quality are legitimately different things

X4 is not bad, get out.

X6 is though (even though I like it).

And so many people hate Resident Evil 5, but I think it's a very fun, solid, and well-made game (although shit in terms of atmosphere).

Melee WAS awesome, I used to play it almost every day. But I haven't played it in such a long time I don't remember exactly how it is.

I'm only talking from my heart, that doesn't really matter. I'm saying that a seemingly "low-quality" game can in some cases seem higher quality to someone because they really enjoy it (there's truth there). I see what you're getting at, I'm saying you can dislike Brawl and it won't matter to me because I have so much fun with it (I have no one to play with locally anymore).

(Forgetting that I never went to school and didn't learn about psychology?)

one would asume that, without the argument you guys are pulling, one doesnt need to defend a game because you know, you like it.
