And now the sig is gone. Sad

Great rips though. I never played Maui Mallard, but it looks great. Are there any enemies worth ripping?

I'm updating my sig and I'll put it back soon...lol
I consider the game excellent, provides us many differente experiences, like the 2in1 character (detective/ninja, wich one with exclusive abilities), you go to the sea, the jungle, a vulgano, bungee jump...

The bosses aren't the strongest point of the game, they have a great graphic (certainly worth the rip), but the fight is repetitious (the 1ยบ boss, for example, you just shoot as fast as you can).
I plan to rip them after complete "my shadows".

My first background. For "Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow":

obs: this icon has a resized (50%) image cause the original size was to big to give a good idea of the riped stage. I think it isn't wrong, am I right?

I'll try to minimize the number of updates, but I really tought that it was complete, but while playing again I found another frames...

With this much awesomeness, who would?

Ripping Alcahest too? Way cool! Great stuff so far

Yeah, Alcahest will come after Cleric and Dwarf from "King of Dragons" and while riping the other "Maui Mallard" bosses. It's a harder game to rip cause you can go in many directions: up, down, left, right, up-left, up-right, down-left, down-right.... big sheets on sight.

Hi Cyrus Annihilator,

I really like the Blackthorne sprites, but I would like to also have sprites from other figures and objects like the orcs, slaves, the big gun, ect.
Could you rip these sprites for me if you have the time?
I tried to rip them, but because of the dark background in the levels, and the black outline in most of the sprites, it's very hard to do.

Hi Jeffrey, thanks for the compliment.
I wasn't thinking about ripping more from Blackthorne by now, cause I have other rips in mind that I want to do first.

The trick to rip Blackthorne's sprites is do it in a different level, not in the mines (lvl 1), that have drak backgrounds. I ripped Kyle in the forest level (lvl 2), where there is a green background layer that was easy to extract. In the desert, there is a blue layer that can serve too. Don't desable all background layers, keep the green/blue active and do the snapshots. (here the passwords of the game)

When you can't get a especific frame, I recomend programs like vSNES. Very powerful tool, but not as fast as take shots with the emulator.

Have a try and please give feedback.

Uh, yeah, you can't just join and pop into somebody's thread and ask them to rip you something. It's against the rules to request without 20 posts (apologies if I'm "mini-modding" again, I don't mean to but I've seen a few similar instances recently and I've just let them go by unnoticed, though I shouldn't have) even if it's not in the Requests forum.

Like Cyrus said, you might try ripping them yourself, it shouldn't be too difficult (not that I know anything of the game).

I tried your method, but it's just to hard to get a certain sprite in the right 'position'. Most frames of a sprite are always in a dark area.
I checked vSNES, but I think it takes too long to rip a lot of sprites this way.

I found a way that should change the background color, see http://mugenguild.com/forumx/index.php?topic=73866.0
I just can't find the right address that contains the background color (hex value 0000 (black) is very common in the game).
Did you ever use this method?

I read about it, but never tried. I never got sucess in Hex Editors... Sad
The forest level contains dark areas inside the trees and green areas outside, I ripped almost everything of Kyle in these areas. You have to choose a char located there and rip.
Well, I got interessed in ripping the orcs (how many palettes are there?), but it will take few weeks, a month, but just the orcs by now...
Sometimes is really hard to completely rip a char. A warning to you that are starting to rip sprites, some chars will take a lot of work and time, but if you want it ripped, do it! You'll get your reward. And your next rip will always be easier than the previous. These days, even vSNES-work is going on fluentily, learning to use keyboard shortcuts is useful skill.

By the way, several sheets are coming soon.
