Not only is the character design bad (a beret, which is French, with some sort of robe that's probably Japanese, don't exactly make a smooth outfit),

this goes past that to the point where you used the base as is.


I mean,
is it that hard to give it a better palette and some shading changes?

Maybe some AA?

Maybe a little pride in showing something instead of just
"oh I want to show off my character design."



I'm also aware that japan is home to girly men character,

but basing it off you, a 13 year old looking kid,

is definitely not a way to go when it comes to the head honcho of what I'm under the assumption is the Team Rocket of whatever Pokemon fan shit you've got going on in your head.

Digital Art For Dummies by Gors:

1-JPEG is not a good format to save images. Prefer PNGs over them.
2-Getting an already made base and working over it is called tracing.
3-The fact that you used a base to make an original character doesn't magically transform your work into NOT-tracing. It is a traced image.
4-Whenever you post traced artwork, please say who's the base maker. Failing to do this means art theft, and that implies warns.
5-If you don't care about who did the original base, this means we should not care about your work.
6-Having a said backstory for your character doesn't justify it isn't a trace.
7-Just because we're requesting things that already should have been posted in the first post, doesn't mean that 'we're jumping on your back'.
8-Do not use traces. Draw it by yourself instead, you'll learn more about drawing, will be a greater experience and will be more rewarding.
9-Your character design sucks.

1- I know, i was just in a rush and it was saved as the wrong type.
2.I did not know that. Thats why i said get off my back i thought you meant copied a picture from something else ie. i never designed the character
4 - I made this character over 4 years ago, i have forgotten who made the base. Im sorry about this, and i did say if you dont want it here delete the post.
5 - I do care who made the base i just dont remember.
8 - it was one of my first works.
9 - theres really no need to be that harsh.Even if i did break the rules.

Ok, This was 4 years ago when i first started making stuff, its not meant to be good at all.
Oh and its supposed to be like a military kind of uniform, but hes also a leader. I dont know i was thinking different things at the time.
Hes not AT ALL based on me, as i said it is what i would be in the Pokemon universe, this is my pokemon character, not me.

Oh and for the girly, Not good for a head honcho character thing, Take a look at N from pokemon black, hes not at all scary, yeah he may not look that girly but he doesnt look like he runs the show at all.

tl;dr- This is an example of a thread that didn't go well. Raeding this might help some of the newcomers at making good, decent topics. I thought that a visual example would give the starters tips on how to improve and get along with people around here.

As seen, Leaderproxima started with an image. That is okay, but the Creativity's forum is meant to help others improving artistically by giving tips.

Everbody did help as seen here, here and here to cite a few.

But instead of taking an action to fix the work, Leaderproxima took an 'This was 4 years ago when i first started making stuff, its not meant to be good at all' approach, basically blocking all tips we gave so far. Since a topic where the OP doesn't accept any criticisms in the Criativity forum doesn't serve any purpose, it suffered its premature locking.

So, anyone that is going to post here, please read the rules and do not act like a douche: notice that our replies only got more 'sour' the instant Leaderproxima ignored us.
