Even the mic games on 6/7 were awesome. There's a 1vs3 game where the single player is piloting a tank that has voice-activated weaponry, and the 3 have to dodge/shoot the tank. As the tank takes more damage, it becomes less responsive to commands.
Games swiftly turn to
"laser.
Laser!
LASER!!!
LAAAAAYYYYYYZAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!"
I'll admit that I enjoyed every Mario Party game, although the first was my favourite.
All, except for number 8 that is. Number 8 wasn't "more of the same" or any such, it was just crappy. I kinda liked the train level a bit, but every single level was just one big circle. There was next to no choices of
direction on any maps. The maps were absolutely terrible and everything else was a dissapointment.

You mean aside from the haunted house stage where the level was completely different every time you played, right?
There was a lot of fun to be had in the 'shake the soda can' game too. For various reasons.

Yeah aside form that level >.> but every other level was pretty much a straight line.

most people who condemn party games and call them the worst genre ever are the kind of people who don't have friends to play party games with

Man, Mario Party 1 was the shit. All my brothers and friends would sit down and play while they had their beer. That was back in the day. MP3 was good for me. But yeah, it sucks now they have so many...

Mario Party Advanced is perhaps the only original Mario Party game. I wouldn't even call it a party game as you basically played it alone.

Mario Parties 1-4 were good, 5-7 were somewhat decent but when it came to 8 it just ruined it for me.
And yeah, I agree that MP was to blame for an inspiration for all the lame shitty halfed-assed party games (Excluding Wario Ware, of course) that come out.

Party games are good for parties but suck when you're alone. End.

I disagree, the best Mario Party was Mario Party 2. Although the Duel Mode in 3 was p good.

ok im not reading two pages of this but party games are awesome and mario party rules when you have friends and wario too
mini games > you
I loved Mario Party 3. Some of the minigames (especially the falling block puzzle) were incredibly deep, and chasing chickens is always fun!
Though the board game aspect does get kind of old.
I haven't played past MP5, so I don't really know how bad/good they are, but I'll assume the first choice, based on the changes between 3 and 5...

With 'Party Games are bad' successfully debunked, I propose a new direction to this thread:
"Are sports games the worst genre in video games?"
I say yes.
