The second model looks abit squashed dont ya think?
Thanked by:
#4
well that's how 3DX ripper made the second model appear like that for some odd reason. I guess each model varies slightly Smile

its because 3d ripper dx doesn't know the scaling used in game. this results in squished or stretched models.

In 3ds max the importer gives you options for the scaling

like i said in my GiFTPiA model help thread i don't have 3D studio max -.-, someone if they were kind enough could fix the scaling for me Smile

What thegameexplorer said was mostly right. However, the main issue is actually skewing, not scale. This is a big problem, because it messes with the shapes of the model and is a pain to fix. As you can see, the models are more-or-less slanted in one direction or the other. This is why I'm always cautious when dealing with 3D Ripper DX rips.

I suggest looking into ways to fix skewing. It's not easy, but it's possible.

In my version of Blender, there's a tool called shear that may work. It's under *Mesh>Transform>Shear* when your in *Edit Mode*.

just making sure though do both models have this problem? Cause if one doesn't but the other one does i don't want to ruin the perfect model.

And if so which model has the problem.

i don't really understand how shear works just tried it and it made it look worse maybe its just me cause i don't know what it really does Shy luckily i didn't save when i did that

also the only thing i could find about skewing is this http://www.deep-shadows.com/hax/forum2/v...f=2&t=6891 and i didn't really understand it Surprise

It's hard to tell with the normal model, due to the wacky style, but the On Parole model is definitely messed up. One look at it and you can tell something about it isn't right. As far as technical issues go, the Parole model also has a bunch of tiny tiny triangles randomly scattered around, including some which are super far away. You'll have to go through your programs list of meshes to actually find them, since they're too small to see.

I'm really glad that you included the different facial expressions. However, dividing up the textures into two different directories makes it difficult to use. It's best to stick all of the textures in the same directory. There's really no need to separate the face textures, because they're clearly labeled, and clearly look like faces.
