Wink
Well then. Hello.
I happen to be Ravaro, the Gaia's Dark Bloom.
But does that matter? No. It never does.

But then, why am I posting this? Is it to be a generic user? No, don't think that. I would hope you wouldn't think that.

Instead, I happen to be one of the less generic users; Do you see anyone with the nickname Ravaro? No. With anything involving Ravaro? Nah.

I happen to be a game developer, and even a game player. I'll admit; If I get bored, I will end up playing video games. Tongue
I'd have to say, my favorite kind of games have to be old school games, as modern games treat you as you're retarded or something. The tutorials seriously tell you how to move left and right. However, any kind of game where you learn how to play it on your own, and explore through it has to be my favorite, hence why I'm a Metroid fan.

I also happen to be one of the more hardened gamers, as I've defeated Mega Man 1-6, x1-x3, x6, x7, x8, 9 & 10, half of 7, ZX, Legends, and Zero. I've also even beaten SMB2 (J) with two lives. One was lost during 5-1.

But, does anyone really care about my gaming habit? Nah.
I also happen to know three main languages fluently: Japanese, English, and French. I happen to know about 9 languages, but only 3 are perfected, and the other 6 are near perfected. Fun fact: English isn't my primary language. Japanese is.

Why do you care? Well, haven't you always wanted to start a conversation in a foreign language?

As I said with my game developing hobby, I happen to have started such a hobby at the age of 10. Actually, that's when I began using the Internet. (Shocker! But, no. I'm 16 now.)

And yes, my past works did suck when I was 10, and now they're become way more serious. Project RAR is my current one, and though untitled, the game itself has a near complete base engine, a boss system, upgrade based and exploration based gameplay, and even more.

During my game development, especially during Project RAR, I happen to do coding, Music design, and Level Design. Graphics are not my forte! Tongue

My hobby sparked as soon as I got the idea: "Someday I want to make my own game!" And now look at me. I'm officially shot in the head. But, who cares! I mean, I don't! I live through life knowing I'm slightly crazy, but, aren't we all?

Anyways. I hope to like it here. How's everyone else?

Enough with the bragging. Why are you here, fool?!?

Kidding Genki ^_^

Welcome to the Resource, Ravaro!
You and I seem to have a few similarities: I'm also 16 (almost 17), and I'm also developing my first serious game (or trying, anyway). I started when I was around 11/12, I'd always wanted to make games but that's around the time when I started actual programming. My dad initially threw me into C++, but I decided that Flash's AS2, which has now developed to AS3, was a better choice. Once I've gotten better at game development in general I'll go on to C++ or the like.
My gaming interests are pretty different than yours though. I won't go into any details (that'd just be awkward) but my posts in the "What are you playing?" thread (located in the Gaming section) should sum up my preferred genres/styles/types, if you care at all.

So besides all those other hobbies you mentioned, do you do any spriting? That is, sprite creation or ripping? I don't think it's a requirement here (heck, are there any requirements?), but I'm just interested in your exact purpose of being here.

Welcome to TSR, please read the rules and enjoy your stay here! Ravaro is a very unique name. Big Grin

Also,

Quote:I also happen to be one of the more hardened gamers, as I've defeated Mega Man 1-6, x1-x3, x6, x7, x8, 9 & 10, half of 7, ZX, Legends, and Zero.

Shocked

I don't see X5 in that list... why did you skip X4 and X5 if I may ask? They're both a lot better than the previous 2 games. Please try X5 if nothing else, it's the best game in the series (better than X1 for me! Surprise), or at the very, very least the best of the 2D X games. It's where my two most favorite Maverick Reploids of all originated from, as well. Cute

Quote:But, does anyone really care about my gaming habit? Nah.

Yes, they do actually. Cute

Seriously? Unexpected.
For some reason I always think that most people on forums (especially mods) are way older than me, you especially I've been expecting to be like 22 or something Tongue

That's the internet for you. I've had this kind of stuff happen before: there was a guy on another forum who thought I was 18 when I was 14.

Of course, I tend to write (at least on forums) "mature" for my age, so it's only natural for people to make assumptions. It lets me have proper discussions, and people will actually read what I write, rather than going around writing "HEYGUYS HOWZIT I WANNARIP SPRITESCANU HELP ME oh capslock wasonsorry CuteCuteCuteCute" and then getting my posts deleted.
It also helps with my overall grammar and vocabulary. English is my first language of course, so it's not as if the internet is my only source of using it, but it helps me improve while also actually writing something useful.

Sorry, Ravaro, but your introduction thread has been taken over and is now the general "We're all soooo young"-topic!

I personally am one of those who never ask for age/sex because we realized that these things don't matter. Not even in real life, although you can usually make a good guess (I'm quite bad at guessing age, though, but as I said, I don't really care anyways).

If something "matters" is relative to the context though. If you were to hire somebody for a job, age would certainly matter. And if you want to know what to recommend as the ideal diet to someone, both age and sex would have to be taken into consideration, and would thus matter.
But obviously I get your point: on the whole, what you think of somebody shouldn't rely on their age or sex. Correct.

And yeah, we have gotten off-topic haven't we. Sorry Ouch!

Yeah, as long as people are friendly towards eachother (unless they're joking around of course), get along and show respect for others, then it doesn't matter what kind of person they are to me.
I like everyone for who they are on this board. Each and every one of you is unique and has that certain something that distinguishes them from others, and all have some sort of talent, whether it be sprite ripping, modeling, drawing or game development.
As I've said before several times, I love you guys and you're all irreplaceable to me. Smile
