Also fixed his pants, the hands need amjor revisions.
Will do tomorrow, I have to get off for the night.
Heh, nice choice of words Smug
Like Metaru said, I think the arms you have now should probably be a tad thicker. It'd actually look cool if the arms were elastic, kind of like Luffy or Ristar, and it would open up to a completely new moveset. Only thing is, I don't know how well it works concerning the sprite boxes and all, I'm no programmer.

That's actually what I was doing. Cute
I want to keep them thin as a sort of corresponding feature between robo and myself so that the robot characters in the game look somewhat like they are styled in a specific way.
I havnt had much time to do stuff, but I have a four day weekend coming up after tomorrow, so I should be able to get back to work soon!
Also, I hadnt even noticed that I did that with those words. Tongue

Progress is looking good! I love what you did there with the Sigma quote. Big Grin

It still looks a bit off to me.

Maybe more like this kinda motion blue
only bent in more if that makes sense.

Gors or robo, are punches restricted to the character's 64x64 box? Or could I be sort of like Dhalsim and reach out of it for longer range?
Sacrificing damage for reach of course.

Thanked by:
You can have the punching arm be a seperate item and have its own box, adding up to a 128x128 box

Unless Gors has a different say, it's his style after all

Thanks robo, I am definately considering doing that, it is one of the three moveset possibilities I have in my mind that work with his current form/storyline.
Posting this because I dont know ehen Ill have a chance to post again, maybe in a few hours, maybe tomorrow, I don't know.

Having a lot of trouble with his arms, Meta, I appreciate your idea for the wiggly-arms pose, but I m sticking with his flamingo-stance, I think that it makes him unique.

Thanked by:
Honestly I don't know why a flamingo stance would make sense for a light bulb at all ...

It's not really a good idea to take random poses you saw in karate movies just because...
Besides, isn't that type of stance more focused on kicking, or something? ...Or have I played too many games? Either way, it doesn't look like it'd be easy to link to your extendable arm attacks. Your stance should probably focus on using your arms effectively instead...

I've seen a lot of fighters come up with really CREATIVE fighting styles here that took an advantage of their fighter's design, why did you go with a pre-existing martial arts style? Isin't the crane meant for well.. used for kicking?
Thanked by:
I didnt copy an exact pose from anything I've ever seen, I used the crane pose as a reference for my flamingo pose, which comes close to it. It is much more unique than a boxing position, and it's purpose is to emphasis kicks, which detracts opponent's attention from his arm attacks, and the arched position of his arm aids in his projectile launching and gives him a powerful dowwards thrust-punch. I have thought this out quite a bit, actually. His legs are important in his attacks, and they are just as stretchy as his arms are, but this is more to create acrobatic attacks than direct super-long straightforwards punches and kicks, his attack base is centered around curving and twisting ttacks and electrical surges. Trust me, when I start on spriting his attacks, you will see it all come together smoothly. The reason for me using a flamingo as it's basis is that in my personal life, they bear a significance in the form of an inside joke between myself and my friends, and this is rationalized in the game (If there are going to be character bios) by the fact that he was trained in combat by a flamingo martial arts master after the lighthouse incident, whcih I will explain if you want me to, but otherwise it isnt particulairily important. I appreciate your input, but I am going to keep his flamingo pose, it has the added benefit of distinguishing him from the other fighters so far.

if the charisma of your character is going to be defined purely by the way he stands then i'd probably reconsider being a figther. you might as well just be an element inthe background or an assist.

because as far as i can read, we're bound to read an entire fanfiction in order to understand a movelist that we really do not need to understand.

dear "sir, please think AGAIN about the fact that, desing wise, the arms and pose of your character are going to suffer from a terrible readbility when ingame. not to mention, the animations you have in mind -aparently- imply that you do have the skill to execute them properly under the 4 frame max limit, wich i highly doubt you could perform.

it is not like i am denying you the chance to try. but if you can barely pull a single decent frame with this as your desing, i really dont see you finishing an entire set.
I'm gonna experiment an idea. First, I'll make a fighter (Rattrap) in this style.

Then, when Rattrap's done, I'll show him to ya, which I'll design his moves first. If that goes WELL (since some frames DO have a 4 max limit in this style), I'll carry what I've learned there to this style. That way animating the poses that are currently in progress will be certainly easier. If not, I'll just grab special #1 and dumb myself down to an Assist.

Oh I never meant that you would have to read about it, I was just saying that if there is a need for people to understand ehy he stands like that i.e., character background bios, then he has one prepared, otherwise,

If it doesn't matter then I'm not going to try to force anybody to read anything. I kind of agree with you about my animating skills, but I'll would like to try it out before giving up and doing something easy. I will probably rely somewhat on motion blurs to cut down on frames. As for readability, the backgrounds are going to be lightened by a special program, I am pretty sure I read that somewhere, and when I put him against any solid color in the pallate, only the dark brown made his limbs difficult to make out. This shoudnt be a problem after it is lightened by the program. His "charisma is just accentuated by his stance, which actually lends itself several possibilities. I beieve I mentioned having three primary ideas for a moveset, those three are the acrobat one (Which I have more or less decided on, there is still room for change, as I havent started on his attacks yet, and probably wont for a while, as I have to finish Action's little blue fellow's entrance/exit animation after I finish my idle) Anyhow, the other two are a strategy centered around shocking attacks and projectiles, and the other is direct ranged attacks based off of his stretchyness. If you guys really think that he shouldn't have that stance, then if people continue to suggest a change in pose, I am willing to comply, provided they have reead why it is as it is. Smile
------------------------
Also, you mentioned the first portion of my name in what I gather to be a sarcastic manner, presumably because it sounds pompous, the only reason that it is there is becuase I made my first account, forgot about it, and when I tried to log back in it wouldnt let me, I may haave changed the password at some point and forgotten, I dont believe I even registered it. So I made a new one, and added "Sir" so that I could retain my name as it was, and I didnt like the sound of Mr. Zadaben. I didnt mean to apply any sort of title to myself. If you didnt mean that, it's totally fine, sometimes people sound angry online without meaning to, and it's no big deal in any circumstances anyways.

Sorry for the really long posts, I am trying to be concise, but I'm super tired, and am not able to shorten myself as usual. Tongue
