So on the topic of not-Pokemon, I'm kind of curious what people's ideas for possible stages are. What kinds of locations that have shown up in Nintendo games since Brawl came out do you think would make good stages? Or ones that you think have been wrongfully skipped over in the past?

Obviously there's going to be something Skyward Sword inspired, probably either the Sealed Grounds or Skyloft (because honestly what else is there), and Kid Icarus will probably get something that showed up in Uprising (which I haven't played) but I can't really think of any other franchise that has gotten any new important areas, other than the ones I mentioned before for Pokemon (N's Castle, Dracospiral Tower or the Pokemon League).

Actually, Brawl had a lot of good, or at least, rather significant stages that it'd be hard to find a replacement for. Curious how many "Retro" stages from Melee/Brawl they go with this time around?

etc etc etc.

aint that hard to pick, if they just do what theu have been doing for the last what, ten years or so of developing this game?

Speaking of Skyward Sword stage:



I saw this map on a video game site (IGN? I had ESPN here for some stupid reason okay I'm sorry) and I almost had a heart attack, since I thought it was a legitimate leak.

I then remembered Brawl's been modded halfway to Hell and back.

The only way they'll ever get Melee and N64 stages back is if there is DLC.

The next Smash Bros. needs a stage for every single character, especially Bowser with Bowser's Castle.
Also, Tanooki Mario and Kitsune Luigi should be costumes.
And it needs more Wario Land references. Wario is not only Wario Ware.

That's why everyone was hyped about subspace

then the original enemies came

then, things didn't go so well

the cutscenes are nice, but......they do not show the charm of each individual series


I think I'm actually glad Namco is working on this


EDIT: I love the fact that that teaser picture has a lot of personality, I hope the art direction goes that way (not exactly animu, as much as I would like it, but like, exagerating characters and making them more iconic, I personally love the way Marth is flamboyant on there, heh)

There's also a Mr. Saturn, so at least one of the Earthbound representatives should be returning.

What I think is interesting, and a little disheartening, is that we see a Pikmin with no Olimar. Considering that Olimar isn't even in Pikmin 3, could this mean he's been bumped in favor of promoting one of the Pikmin 3 captains?

That would be interesting, they're probably discussing on that (same thing with Earthbound character), maybe we won't have a lot of representatives for a single series? (Only Meta-Knight and Luigi are the "secondary" characters there)
